Default Titan MotorSports, 6.97@200 mph

This is a full chassis vehicle built by RJ Race Cars. A car like this although looking like a Celica; starts and stops there. A car built from the ground up with all chrome-moly tubing and chassis components to go 6 seconds, over 200 MPH safely is not an easy accomplishment.

The first full carbon custom body rolled out in early January 2004. We got the FIRST One. This vehicle is a perfect example of what it takes to win NHRA and NDRA Championship Races and what Titan is all about.

Utilizing a 2jz-gte motor commonly out of a Toyota Supra Twin Turbo the team is quite at home with this powerplant. Come out and visit us in 2004 at the race and stop by and feel feel to grab a keychain and chat with one of the team members.

I've never understood why you'd call a tube frame car powered by a supra engine a celica.

You're right its more of a frankenstein than anything else..... supra motor, tube chassic, carbon fiber body... Some domestic car parts, I bet you it even has some subaru parts in there

but in honor of the cheesy APC tail lights that are on the car... it still represents a celica to me.

6.97 is how long it takes me to get my H-Stock Solo2 car up to about 30mph...

(It has a 0-60 time of about 13 seconds, no joke)

yikes! My GF's got an 88 Jetta. Not exactly what I'd call a performance car! Yet somehow... 2003 H-Stock NCAC State Champ

Lack of competition?? Or are you just that good?

Celica? I don't have a Celica.

As for the Jetta, it's actually locally competitive. By the end of it, the car had over 200k miles on it. It was the previous state champ a few times over by the previous owner. Big front sway, K&N, 14" Azenis (daily driven) and a Borla catback. -1.5 camber (still not enough) in the front. For power, I'm guessing since it's down a little and quite old that I'm getting between 70-80 to the wheels.

A little of both; lack of competition and I'm not too bad for H-Stock locally. The best folks in the area never showed to the 4 different competitions...worst one of the 4 in the series I took 3rd. (Out of 5 or 6 I think, I also coned away dang near everything.)

The car isn't regionally competitive and is a FAR cry from Nationally. I have no interest in doing much more for H-Stock other than this car; it's a good daily driver. If I wanted to go H-Stock any higher, I'd buy a Mini. (Not interested.)

I did manage to beat a STi at the 24 hour autox event last fall (on a tight technical course) in the Jetta though. (The guy had a turbo miata and a STi; couldn't drive the STi very well.)

Here's a photo of the mad JettAr in action. Someone took my normal number at the event so I had to add a paper 1 at the beginning.

Good god man, we've hijacked the thread so far you don't remember where we are?

And I must say... congrats. I like my Jetta well enough, it's a good cruiser/daily driver. I just miss the AWD traction and spunk.

Does the body look anything like Tolliver's or Head's Celica?

LMAO

It would be pretty entertaining...in a sick and strange sort of way. Sorry about the hijack.

I just watched a special on the history of Drag Racing and it's evolution on the History Channel the other night. Too cool!

The supra is currently having the MoTeC revamped, and a few other things fixed tuning wise.

as good as the supra has been running, now that we have it fine tuned a bit better for a different setup it should be back to setting records before the end of the season

I saw Titan motorsport at Moroso at the nationals. They had a nice team but they were having problems with getting their Celica on the track. Once they did, they ran ok but they couldn't match Street Glow Solara. They had the same setup as Matt Scranton just a different color.

that was our 2nd race we had been to with the celica. the setup is similar but very much different once you look at it from an Tuning standpoint. We run a MoTeC, he runs an AEM, its like bringing a Knife to a gun fight with an AEM
