Question Paint Shops

I need some help. I just purchased a sti hood scoop from a vendor in the States and recieved it yesterday. Now, I thought the paint would be a very close match, but it is quite a bit more blue than my car, actually my car looks more purple compared to it. So now I am thinking, should I get it re-painted? And if I do, it would be a perfect time to paint my stock side skirts. Now, there happens to be a Craftsman Collision 3 buildings down from where I work, so at lunch I drove over there to get a quote on re-painting my hood scoop and side skirts. $617.00!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I thought maybe $150, but $617, that sounded like BS to me. I was told by the guy who did the estimate that because they are an ICBC shop, they have to charge ICBC rates.

Could anyone recommend a shop to me that has reasonable prices, or was the price I was quoted reasonable?

Brian

ps: If anyone else needs stuff painted WRB, maybe we could get a group rate of some sort.

Thanks for the resposes guys. I thought that $617 quote was very high. I guess the only other cost involved would be removing the paint from the hood scoop (prep work)

there is no need to remove the paint. they just sand it down, prime over it, and respray.

bwco, how is the quality of the paint as far as matching goes? The one thing I am finding with my pre-painted scoop is that the metallic flecks in the paint is to dense.
