A comparably equiped Legacy GT wagon and WRX sedan cost about the same. Subaru needs to either give the Impreza more power, or something. Or else cut the MSRP.

Hmm, looks like the base GT lost the climate control system .. or at least I thought it came with the base GT. I could be wrong ..

Checked out Subaru.com and after seeing a silver 05 Outback Sport with the new rims, I can now fully say that I'm glad i have an 04. I prefer the 5 spoke design over the 7 spoke. I think if I was getting an 05 though I'd opt for the 2.5RS wagon with a few extra options (fog lights most notably) instead of an Outback Sport if for no other reason than monotone paint.
What I like about the 05:The steering wheel(I'm seriously trying to see if I could somehow get that wheel for my 04) and lighted ignition (even my old 93 Escort had a light over the ignition!). Things I don't like-The wheels, the new ashtray (I liked how before there was a little space for sunglasses along with the seperate pull out ash tray)
Things I'm impartial too-the mirrors switch being moved(i actually prefer it down on the console as i usually keep one hand near the stick shift so if I need to adjust my mirrors it's much easier with it down there) and the redesigned cupholders. I actually liked the dash cupholder as it would hold my 16 oz bottles of Snapple very snuggly.

I'd have to say the site, addition to new models, has included some nice upgrades in usability over the previous revision, most notably in the build and configure section.

Still isn't up to par in style as per the new UK and NZ sites most notable.

I could live with the US site if we only had the choice of the two white colors in NZ or the nice green in the UK.

Yeeeessss, the Forester is missing..... Anyone have any ideas why? I'm torn between WRX Sportwagon (new or maybe 1-2 years old) and Forester XT, but have been dying to see if there is a new (better!) color for the '05's. Once they post this info for the Forester, I might finally be able to decide. What's the holdup, SOA?

That's funny. I have the identical OBS to yours and I agree with your assessment of the 2005 model. The new wheels are a negative for me as well, I much prefer the 2002-04 five-spoke wheels. Ditto for the new centre console design--I also use that little spot forward of the gear shift for my sunglasses, but in the 2005s that spot is gone. It also looks like they've changed the interior plastics to a darker shade of grey and although it's hard to tell, the tweedy seat and door fabric may be history.

On the upside the new steering wheel is a big improvement and the lighted keyring is long overdue. The dome light in my 2004 fades out too quickly for me to be able to easily find the keyhole in the dark. Love the silver-ringed gauges as well.

Only reason I can think of why Forester is not up yet is because they have a long backlog of older Foresters still to sell... I dunno.

Anyway, did anyone else notice that the Baja is now the cheepest turbo Subie ? That's right, the initially-overpriced Baja. And plus, almost all the colors are now monotone. SOA is correcting some initial Baja mistakes. Almost makes it worth considering.

As far as I can tell from a quick scan of the lot, an OBS is the only '05 model at my dealer as of yesterday. I happen to really like the new wheels.. very distinctive for the imprezas. Then again, I don't have an '04 model that I'm paying off and trying to justify to myself (I kid, I kid)

Yea, What happen to the Climate control??

I just talked to the salesguy at Van Bortel and he said the price changed in favor of the customer, now it's $25,517.

They sell them like $200 over invoice? I thought the Invoice was $24487?

Not so happy....
