Default can ne1 recommend a good detailer?

can ne1 recommend a good detailer or shop?

need to get a used car cleaned up. suffers from carwash scratches/buff marks, etching from bird droppings, but not much oxidation.

please don't say bashir's... been there already

There's this place called Auto Detailing next to bender's work at OK Tire on Marine, I got a car wash from them and it cost me $10 and the guy too his time and even used an air gun to get the water from the sides of the windows out... I saw that they were working on an explorer and it looked pretty shiny... anyone have experience there?

MWilke did a great job on my old impreza hood at the shown'shine the year before last. Also not sure of his contact info and I don't know how often he is online here. I'm sure someone has his info though.

I remember BT complaining he doesn't have a driveway so he might be limited when it comes to space to wash the car. I personally don't have a hose or anything to wash my car so I need to go to a friends place.

I claybarred my car two weeks ago and WOW what a difference. I highly recommend it. It took just over 2 hours to claybar the entire car.

if you wanna clay bar a black car, you'll see a big difference too, cause u'll scratch the clear coat badly.

Just a small tips to those who doesn't know much about these stuff -- if you feel bumps on your paint, use some dish washing detergents first, if it still doesn't work, then go with the clay bar, but make sure u've a hand loads of lubricant. Otherwise, u'll scratch the car badly. (especially on a darker color car)

just wanna add.. if you do choose to use dish detergent
polish/wax right after the wash
dish wash removes wax.. as well as some oil in your paint, so your paint'd be vulnerable

hate to see dark coloured subies having weathered paint

yeah, devo is right.

If you paint has minor imperfections, use swirl remover.
If you paint was badly damaged or had deeper scratches, use clear cut polish.
Then, Please apply paint sealant, next - wax your suby.

i'm not sure what to do here. there seems to be many one-man operations here, and few established businesses. i'm just very worried about going to someone who might mess up the work and then refuse to compensate or pull a "fly by night" on me.

i don't want to spend a fortune, but i don't want to go stupid cheap either (the bad tint job on my car is testimony to this )... just want it done right.

I had my car detailed there, inside and out ... I'd give it an 8/10. If you're looking for perfection, this isn't the place.

There was excess wax spots on the headlamps and the plastic sections, no tire shine or armorall on the interior ...

The price ($130 cash), and the length of time (4 hour turnaround) is decent, and they by no means did a bad job.

I had my car detailed at Kingsway Auto detail in Coquitlam on Westwood last weekend. They claybarred and wax my whole car and it looks amazing. The paint is cleaner, more pearly and deeper then the day I picked it up from the dealer.

SWP looks soooo goood all clean and shiny... meh so happy.
