pics will be up soon, and with stock size discs they fit WRX 15" (my dealer uses that setup for mud and snow rallying) mine are on stock discs right now 'cuz i'm still on stock 16's but as soon as my speedlines go on i have a set of bigger discs and brackets to relocte the calipers...

Kartboy, you could easyly make the brackets for theses, mine were made from T6 forged ally...

Thumbs up

I bought somebody's brakes off of their P1 and I am going to swap in slotted discs in the stock size that way I can still run the 16's and us the 17's for summer and street use. you can always email the guys at Scoobymania. They have some STI brakes right now for 400 Pounds. If you get them you may want to invest in the SS brake lines as well.

got the brake lines too...
i looked into the STi brakes but their not worth the price as an aftermarket part, in Jan when i get my WRX ver 6 i'm changing them also to AP brakes...

the wilwood set me back 900$can and that's with full-race pads and 2 sets of mounting brackets, one for stock soze discs and one for discs that will fit minimum 17" wheels...

it will be perfect for the turbo and they are about half the weight of the STi units.

race pads for the stock rear calipers balance the whole thing just perfectly, at the dealer what they did was to relocate the front discs and calipers to the rear wheels, hydrolic hand brake and voila... awsome setup and just right for their 360bhp.

The only complaint I have heard about the Wilwoods were from a guy who said his setup left his silver rims looking gunmetal or even black. Is it just the pads he was running? Where did you find the Wilwoods for $900 CAN? That is alot less then the $1200 I have heard about for the Alcon or Brembos.

i guess i got'em for a good price, we bought a few sets at a time...

and yes my wheels get damn dark in just a day and it doesn't seem to be the pads, my discs seem to be decomposing from the hard-core pads, i can also see some sparks flying, that is pretty cool too...

What model of Wilwood caliper are you using? It should be stamped right on the caliper.

Most of their models aren't that expensive. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you're running Dynalites or Dynalite II's.

N/A-- dust on the wheels is always the pad's fault.

ColinL-so is there anyway to run the car with good brakes (note I don't do track days just an auto-x) and not have to wash the rims off every other day? I like stopping power but I hate to try and get brake dust out from around lugnuts and stuff. I switched to the carbon metallic brake pads on the Integra before and actually got less dust. If I was more serious about racing I would be willing to put up with the amount of dust.
I forget who asked but I have seen 4 pot setups before for $1200. These aren't the huge ones that require 17in rims though and they aren't 6 pot but just the upgraded 4 pots.

I know ownly has some hookups, but unless he's sponsored by a reseller or Wilwood directly, the only brakes he could have got for near $600CDN should be 4 piston.

But now that I think about it, they could be a lot of other things besides the Dynalite.

As far as getting good pads with minimal dust, you just have to talk to others that have run them or find out yourself.

Looks good. Now just through on some slotted or crossdrilled rotors in the stock size. Then you can still use the 16in rims for winter tires. That is the whole reason for me sticking with the upgraded 4 pots. Larger discs look good and all but I want to keep the stock 16in rims for winter and use the 17s I just got for summer. Any idea who makes some replacement rotors for in the stock size to use with my STI brakes?

I use the STi brakes because they fit under 15" racing wheels - a necessary requirement if you plan to fit an Impreza with the best available gravel and snow racing tire sizes.

15in wheels? Are you sure? I thought that you had to use 16in rims with the 4 pot STI calipers? Then again when you get the STI brakes be sure your getting the right year. I know there are some differences by year like up to 96 there were slightly different brakes. Maybe that is why? I wish there was a tech section just on swapping WRX parts onto the RS. Almost all of the tech sections deal with exhausts and US parts but nothing for JDM stuff. Yeah maybe one of the Tech gurus can put something together? There have been swaps of VersionIV, V suspensions, wings, brakes, exhausts, and other parts to include side mirrors and rear windows with the wiper.

Well damn I had no idea. On the UK board people were posting them for sale for certain model years. That may have been why I thought that. They always listed them as STI brakes for MY94-96 and such. I am still looking for the slotted or crossdrilled rotors if anybody knows where to order that kind of stuff from? Even in the UK? I will be running the stock 16's and some 17's. Thanks guys for helping out the confusion.

Absolutely. I have two sets of 15" X 7" Raceline and a third set of Compomotive 15" X 7" wheels that fit nicely on my WRX. Remember, these are special racing wheels designed with caliper clearance in mind. In adition, all STi brakes are the same four pot cast calipers - the Subaru homologated brakes for group N competition.

I second Jude. The STis fit the racelines (which I'll pick up soon) the 16" WRX wheels and the 17" OZ SuperTs. And they work Greaattt!!

Question

Still no info on the slotted/crossdrilled rotors? I am going to get the SS lines from Rallispec but I still need a company to get the rotors from.
