Question What's required to go to Nationals?

It looks like my Navy obligations will actually let me get away in September, so I could go to Nationals this year. It would be fun to see how bad I'll get my ass handed to me by the "real" SM cars.

I'm not really sure what the requirements are to "qualify", though, and the SCCA's new website is (IMHO) about 1000x less user-friendly than the old one was. I vaguely recall that you have to have attended a Divisional or National Tour event - is that correct? And if so, what do they do about us poor bastards stuck out here in Hawaii?

Pat,

There is no "requirement" to go to Nationals. But if you do not attend a Tour or Div, you will pay an extra "fee".

You must be an SCCA member 1st and formost.

There's a waiver fee you can pay (I think $80) in case you were not able to attend a national/divisional event.

All the fees are listed on the entry form here: http://www.scca.org/_Filelibrary/Fil...oEntryform.pdf

Edit: That entry form doesn't have the waiver fee... hmmm..... might be best to call HQ and ask.

Hope to see you out there!

That waiver fee isn't that much when you factor in the regular entry fee, lodging, fuel money, consumables it would cost your for a Tour/Div...
