Question front bumper swap

Anyone know the cost of doing a '99/'00 front bumper on a '98? I did a search and came up empty.

ohhh ohh i know. I just did it about a month ago. Hold on to your hats...and sit down for this one... Total cost....OVER $3000! Well, i had the bumper painted rally blue pearl, had the better lights put on, and some other stuff. but yup, it was 2200 for the new bumper and painting the stuff alone! Shessh, EXPENSIVE, but worth every penny!

well, let me start off with...
1. new bumper
2. new fogs (not OEM ones...Hellas-still on order though, so i have OEM in there now. ( i not only paid for the Hella's i also had to buy the OEM )
3. Rally Blue Pearl Paint.
4. Some custom work on bumper, to make some misc. stuff functional
5. had front bumper mounts modified for new bumper to mount too.
6. new headlight stuff
7. Had bumper and fenders blended in to match rest of car
8. Had the hood resprayed at the same time
9. Labor...at about 110 an hour *arghhh*
10. shall i keep going? I also had some other stuff done at the same time to the front of the car.

So if i were to have gone to a stock setup (like the 99/00) i would have saved a @#$% load of money, and the total would have been about a grand give or take. BUT i had the car blended, some custom mods. done and new lights. as well as some other stuff. BUT my cost was high, because i did not go with the stock stuff. I went aftermarket on most of it.

I just ordered mine from subaruparts.com last week. With out the inner beam it was around $180 shipped. I am gonna order lightweighted inner beam from ISR. ($120)
I am going to buy trun lens from WRX-STi for $85. so that is about $400 w/o fog lights.

yeah, sorry i should have posted, that num. was not for a by anymeans stock bumper swap. That list was about 1/2 of what was done. What can i say, i like to impulse buy. I should join the group for people like me.....i can see it now.

hi, my name is gary, and i spent my entire life savings on my subaru.

Hi Gary...

(whispering in the background...a subah what?)
Yeah, i love the new look, sure it could have been 1/2 a good turbo kit...but i like the look, and i will still turbo it. Just at end of next summ. when TAD owner's friend comes out with his kit. (300+ horsies suposedly!)

I got my bumber today. I got estimates for painting it. I went to 3 different body shop, and they asked about $300. Just painting, without installation. I dont know if this is good price. They said they use good quality paint that comes with lifetime guarantys. Did anyone have it done cheaper?
