Talking All I can is OMG!!!

HI guy's so today was the first time I have ever been in a subaru. It was as I drove away from dd in my new blue '05 sti . Amazing I am in love now to knock off 1500 km under 4k rmp wich is brutal torture when you want to feel the full power of a new car.Oh yeah the car is soooo sexy! I can't wait until the break in is over so I can find a nice safe place to test the limits .

I think that breakin is crap. I redlined mine as I drove it off the lot. It had about 55k on it before I wrecked it and always ran fine. Congrats on the new car. Enjoy

Break-in period is a load of crap as said above. As long as you do your scheduled oil changes and keep everything in good working order that is all that needs to be done.

Yeah 1500 km below 4k rpm whatever(when that little red light comes on at 4k I am having a hard time convincing the right foot to let up).I waited with money down for 5 month's for this thing but I am glad I waited.Bastard yeah I know I feel like one everytime I get in .The rear cup holder's are allready filled with tireshine and armor all.Drink's in a rally car that is being drivin' like a rally car is not good screw cup holder's.

lol congrad on your new ride...

i broke in mine in 2 days
i drove it night and day from richmond to west van then to north van and to burnaby then go to coquitlam then back to richmond...
when i became tired then back home and have a sleep, after i wake up, go back to the garage and start the car up again, lol

1500 km wasn't too long to wait... it only costs you about 4-5 tank of gas

I wanted to call the break-in crap.. but I also didn't want to risk it.. So I made my own rule.. Nothing over 5000rpm for 500kilometers.. Which took about 4 days, and after 500k I tried to avoid any thing hard for the next 1000k, but wasn't 'too' worried about it.

I think it's more important to avoid leaving the RPM at a constant speed during the first few hundred K. It's not just how much wear, but what types of wear.
