Default WRX Mudguards

For anyone wanting to put mudguards on their WRX and doesnt want to pay the $250USD for the prodrive fitting ones. Heres something for you.

I bought a set of the Impreza guards and had the same guy that did my intercooler screen cut and fit them for me......he did an awesome job. He said he would do anyone elses that wanted a set so let me know and I can give you the info to contact him. He also said he would do more intercooler screens if people wanted them as well.

Heres some pics.....look factory dont they....he even put molding on them to hide the cut.

Back ones fit with no modification at all.

His name is Cal, you can call him at GC Customs at 438-8224
If you can't get him there, talk to one of his sons (its there shop) and let them know what you want and they can hook you up.

Those are the molded mud guards for the 2.5RS. The 2.5RS doesn't come with the plastic side skirts, so that's where the trimming needs to be done on the fronts. I fitted them to my car and it keeps the nasty rocks away from the side of the car.

Hey Lance, I'm thinking of getting mine painted in the summer. We should get ours painted at the same time!

I was thinking of getting the backs of the mud guard painted. The surface that actually faces the tires would be masked off. I can't remember the price I paid, but it was somewhere in the $125 region, I think.

Ya they are $124 + tax

Way cheaper to do it this way then buy the prodrive ones.

Wow, they look really good, I've been looking to get some mudgards, since the first day I got my subbie, and ya the prodrive ones are way too expensive for plastic. I might go pay rally a visit to get the mud gaurds and get them installed.

Don't paint them. They do flex quite a bit, as they should, so the paint would just flake off.

I figure a black mudguard looks 1000 times better then a flaked paint blue one.

I don't think they flex, but I guess if you drive them into deep snow and get high sided on snow they are bound to give. I've seen guys with Prodrive molded guards painted and they look pretty sweet.

Has anyone tried this trick on a 2004 WRX sedan yet? I'd also like to know the exact model number for the Impreza/RS mudflaps I should be looking for, just so I don't get the wrong parts.

I'd love to do this mod since I plan to get painted sideskirts and I don't want them getting chewed up more than necessary. Especially since I'll be running wider 225/45-17 tires as of this coming weekend (BBS RK's and Goodyear F1 GS-D3s! ).

Here's the 2.5RS splash guards on my 04. They did a very good job keeping the nasty slush and snow off the body during winter. Still nothing beats a set of huge rally style mud guards though.
