Default First Drive - 2005 Legacy GT-Turbo

Well, I stopped by Prestige to spend money in the parts department yesterday and they have one!!! It was coming off the truck as I was paying my bill.

Words cannot accurately describe how impressed I was with this car! Not to mention that they actually let me test drive it. The power is very nice, similar to a stock WRX, except more torque at the bottom end. The gears seem to be closer together than a WRX.

The ride is GREAT, body roll has been reduced over the previous year, and the car feels very tight and well built. I know, tight and well built are thrown around a lot with these cars, however this one seems to be built even better than most of the other Subaru's that I have experienced. It reminded me of an M3 honestly.

The looks of course are breathtaking, this thing is absolutely GORGEOUS! I even like the new blue, the 17" wheels are perfectly designed for the car.

All in all I would have to give this thing a 9.5 out of 10. With the addition of a good exhaust and an 18G, it will score a 12!

Why was I test driving it? Sorry, can't let that out of the bag just yet.

Some highlights I really liked:
Brushed aluminum door sill trim
Gauges do that nifty lightup-sweep thing the STi gauges do
shifter looks and feels VERY nice
much higher grade interior than most other Subies
Brakes are great
Dual exhausts are PLUM SEXXAY!!

One thing I noticed, turbocharger is much different than previous Subies. The compressor discharge mounts with a flange to the intercooler body, no piping between like WRX and STi.

Here are some pics:

Hmmm, I can't say I really like all that plastic that is on top of the engine, but hey it looks neat.. ...... Other than that I would love one of those

if i wanted a mid sized car this would be my choice for a midsized sport sedan. Before this one it would have been a Mazda 6. But turbo and AWD how can you beat that?

Jerry, I can't say that the ride was "GREAT", but I can say that my stomach is feeling somewhat better today.

Seriously, it is a very impressive automobile.

the exhaust reminds me of my old SVT. But not quite as cool. They should have stainless tips instead of those cover looking deals.

I drove the 2.5i today (no GTs yet), the interior is sweet. The steering wheel feels like it's off a video game. (I mean that in a good way)

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of my GT...

Default absolutely beautiful

why doesnt subaru make the sti in that blue color....
It looks like a great car and when Kent popped the hood I was even more impressed. Looks like an acura or an audi (just in the degree of the underhood finishing). Very solid and well built, reminds me of a 525i.

Just my 1.5 cents....

Any wagon's on that lot? I need a wagon for work. Also, I heard turbo swaps are next to impossible since the turbo outlet pipe is welded to the intercooler
