Default STI stock downpipe

Is there any difference between the oem downpipe on a WRX and the oem downpipe on an STi? Are they the same pipe diameters?
Thanks

I think they're the same downpipe. I looked at mine when I put on a TBE, and it looks just like any ol' GDA downpipe...

I remember reading in the 04 impreza manual that the WRX has a 2L and the STI has a 3L cat in the downpipe, (i believe this means liters as in capacity). If anyone has had them side by side does this sound right?

Well if you're question is in regard to using an STi DP in a WRX, they both have the same type of mating flange to the turbo, where the wastegate area is completely blocked off, so you won't really gain much on flow or reduce your back pressure much...

I have a WRX downpipe on my STi

It did not fit directly in because of the bracket on the drivers side of the DP, the STi tranny is larger and that bracket needed to go in order for it to fit. Other than that it bolted right on.

I wish I thought about comparing the exact size of the cats, but it was the last thing I was worried about at the time. We checked the diameter of the pipes and they looked identicle. In it went and its been on since.

fwiw the car is not FASTER, but it is quicker. I think it is due to my very restrictive muffler. Either way it sounds mean as hell
