How much did your conversion cost?
I have searched and searched and still cant find real answers as to how much people payed for their swaps. Right now I personally am looking at STi version (version 1, though it was never tech. called that) up to STi version III type RA engines and trannys. BUT, I would like to find out how much other people payed for other swaps too. So heres what to post:
Recipeant car: Model and year
Donor car: What car did your swap come out of?
What parts were swapped: Did you just do the whole motor/tranny/ecu/rear diff swap or did you also upgrade your exterior, interior, or what?
Price: Total price is alright, but detailed price list if you know it is even better.
Where did you get the swap: Where did you get it, and if you have it preferably post the website/phone number.
Who did the work: Did you do it, or did you have a local shop do it? And, if a shop did it, how much did it cost you? Or if you did it how long did it take you?
What problems did you run into: Please post any problems that you ran into during the swap, and how you got over them.
Was it worth it: I know what most people are going to say, but in your opinion was it worth it in time/money?

I'll post First....
I have a 98 RS
Bought the Engine Drivetrain Package from Lachute Subaru...
Version IV STI RA... Engine,Tranny,Rear End,Down Pipe,New Cross member,New SwayBar,ECU, and Wiring Harness....10,500
Had it shipped to Specialty Subaru in North Vancouver British Columbia where I replaced Timing belt,Timing Belt Tensioner,Light Wieght Crank Puilly,Fuel Filter,New Plugs, New Through out Bearing, New Slave Cylinder, Misc Gaskets and Nut's and Bolts, and all the Rewire Job......2 weeks to complete the job 4 days on wiring and then figuring out why I was getting a boost hiccup around 4K rpm come to find out my ABS System was interferring witht the ECU signal since my ECU didn't come with any ABS wire hook-ups....4,500
The only problem I did have was that the O2 wiring was missed wired and I burned out my o2 Sensor and damaged my Cat in the Down Pipe....had to replace both but thanks to some friends I got another set up and rewire it from Specialty and now runs like a bad at of Hell.....I dyno's it on 92 pump Gas and registered 221@Wheels with 175lbs of Torque....
Was it worth it...(YES).....I was looking into Putting a turbo on my 2.5 engine and by the time I had built it up and got Fuel management and messed around with tweeking all the time I saved around..... 3,000
My swap wasn't cheap but it's done the right way and I have no problems with it at all...I drive it everyday and It's been in my car a little over a Year now and the only thing besides the O2 problem was my Knock went out about a Month ago but that was a easy fix and I have put 43,000 Kilometers on it since install....I have a JDM Cluster as well so sorry about the K's.......

I'll chime in too, even though mine's not done yet, so total cost may be higher than expected (although it shouldn't be!)

I'm swapping every single piece from the WRX that will fit into my car, and doing everything myself. I've had the WRX for almost a week, and I'm just beginning, but its already worth it.
Hopefully I'll get it all done by the end of the summer.

What parts were swapped: lots and lots of stuff i have parts from 24 differnt cars
Where did you get the swap(engine?): ebay eh was ok bougth the TEC2 from the clasified forums
Who did the work: i did 99% of it i had a shop press in the suspension bushings
What problems did you run into: error in injector harness clutch/flywheel fiasco learning to tune from scratch other electrical proublems/shuts of randomly.. actually the list is huge
Was it worth it:
eh.. if i did it again i would do a swap from a usdm car.. my car does not have stock driveability

What parts were swapped: RA c engine/tranny then a regular sti rear end (r180) complete setup front to rear(brembos too)

What problems did you run into: parking brake lines cut. Power steering lines cut. Ecu wiring harness cut. Passenger side of tranny had no output shaft (ok tho cuz axles came with it), drivers side of tranny had axle stump in and sping pin got stuck, couldnt get out (got it out eventually). RA C tranny has oil cooler hardlines and are cut (will route a hose to recirculate it with no oil cooler)
Was it worth it: havent started it up yet, but im goin to say hell yes . I sold my wrx for 18500, bought my RS for 10 even and the whole sti setup front to rear was 8500. So for the same price i think id rather have a reliable 6-sped tranny, v.8 jdm sti RA c motor, with brembo brakes and an r180 rear diff, wouldnt you ?

price: engine,ecu,harness= 3k labor= 0
Where: found everything from a member here and did the work myself
Problems: somewhere along the line my engine dianostic plugs got put together causing weird things to happen when I turned the key, unpluged them and everting worked as advertised.
Worth it?: hell ya! my car is now super quick and I also just increased the resale by atleast 5k.

Price: engine, ecm, harness, clutch, flywheel and other bits $1500 ish
Who did the work: AZP Installs=my shop so labor was done my myself at my shop that does swaps for anyone willing to pony up the dough.
Problems: Missing parts from the engine that I had to source on my own. That wasn't a big deal since I was expecting that.
Worth it?: Oh yeah. The car is so much fun to drive and race now.
