Unhappy GC KYB/AGX problems

Just got my Ground Control coilovers installed at TAD Motorsport today. I got the 8" springs 300/250. Murray told me that the GC setup isn't very good and the springs are too low for the car. He said they also installed a set the other day and the suspension bottomed out. Right now, I have about 1" of travel. So far the car has performed well: less body roll with almost the same ride quality as the stock suspension. Anyone else have problems with the 8" springs? BTW, I have a set of Kumho 712's 215/40/16 and they're great. I wish I had gotten the 225/40/16's though.

Nope, I have 300/250 with 8" springs & trimmed bumpstops, and just for fun, I've flown over (literally) some bumps in the road, & it doesn't bottom out.

Wink

Out of curiosity how low did you lower the car? The impreza doesn't need to be super low ot handle well. There is a reason that Pro-drive keep the front end a little higher. I also have the GC's and lowered the car about 1" all around. And it handles great. I think Ridin'Low is using the same ride height as me and i have no complaints yet. Also as Kartboy said the bumpstops need to be cut in half. This is not optional! Otherwise you will ride your bumpstops. Keep in mind that strut travel is not equal to wheel travel. All the parts are part of a linkage and wheel travel is more than strut travel! Hope this helps some...

Thumbs up

Got 10" springs (250f/200r) with my AGX/GC coilovers - plenty of suspension travel.

8complex,
Couldn't make the BBQ today because I had a picnic to attend in the morning and our investment club meeting in the afternoon (BTW, we had a 47% return on our investment;$1200 invested with us is now worth $1883 - expenses). Our club goal is to have at least 30% return on investments. Ok on to Sube business. The car still leans to the left as before but I'll try to use the height adjustment feature. Right now, I don't want to show you guys the car. I'm currently saving for the following: Shiv's TECII and his Stage III turbo kit, recaro seats, momo steering wheel, new paint job and the STI rally trim kit. Oh yeah, I also want the SYMS racing wheels and Blitz exhaust. Whew! Guess I'll have to postpone my wedding! Ha ha!

dead-eye - what are you trying to make us all look bad?

None of us are heavily modified... I think the most mod'd you get is Donnie's car and he is just up to the limits of STS, probably only about $2000 in parts about.

You should come on out anyway... everyone will drool anyway.

Hmmmm... Donnie asked about his ACT in STR and they told him that it was legal, that just just last weekend too. Need to really get down and read the rule book a little bit more...
