2nd air box gasket produces hesitation....
Lo,
I just put on the replacement gasket on the 2nd air box. after the obligatory reset (>30min)s albeit engine was still warm I took teh car out for some educational time. But I got bad hesitation that I never had before. It occured at about 3500-4500 rpm. Any thoughts? Anyone with this mod faced this problem? Am I running lean?! Help....

Kartboy : how do I check air leak? like the 2nd air box not sealed properly? the clips popped on nicely.... well i'll check again tomorrow morning. thanks.
Oh yeah, I noticed from the sound of the car's idling, it sounded like it's coughing or wheezing. maybe that's air leak? shall i duct tape the 2nd air box? [This message has been edited by Gambit (edited May 18, 2000).] |

Its most likely an air leak.
I also experienced the same situation. 4wdrift |

Was it one of the hoses that connect to the main plenum box? I heard that is what those hoses cause, if not complete failure to run.

Nope 8C. It was because when I didn't put hte 2nd air box back properly. THe lower side of it was not closed tight. If you take the entire assembly of (the whole box off the throttle body) and pry them apart you can see little slits on one of 'em and the other half has jutted out plastic (for lack of word to describe) which will slide into it. That way, it will close properly.
