on a highway about 55-60mph saw the bird swoop down in front and it didn't come past the other side. We thought that the rad caught it, but it was the foglight lol. talk about luck-- well not for the bird.

"Weirdest thing you've found stuck to intercooler"

Humm..... I'd say a hammer ( little small one) on my top mount. Came back from the Subaru dealership and was driving home and heard this rattle from under the hood. Pulled over and popped the hood..... their it sat.

What's funny is I went in to get my radio fixed. The only thing I can think of is they took a look at the battery or something......but even then why would you need a hammer?

I kept it too.

No, really. They are nasty looking but harmless biga$$ bugs that make one of the loudest sounds pound for pound in all of nature.

Thought I had lost my grill emblem, checked the oil a little later, and found it hiding on the intercooler

I was doing about 100kph once across the outback south of Alice Springs up in the Territory in my Pajero, when I saw a flock of galaus (big dumb parrots. Spelling?) sitting on the left side of the track up ahead.

Just as I came up on them they took off into the wind--which was coming from my right.

Pfumpf!

Pfumpf! Pfumpf!

Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf!

Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf!

Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf! Pfumpf!

Pfumpf!

I just let off the gas and emerged from the cloud of feathers, safe and sound, and hit the windscreen washers and wipers....

Now, let me tell you about the flies I've found in my radiator.....

not a subaru story, but i was driving to vegas from la in a 3/4-ton passenger van and drove through a 3 mile long butterfly cloud, the entire front of the van was yellow/orange and i pulled over because the wipers would not work anymore and i literally could not see out of the windshield...it was painted solid with butterfly sauce. I had to scrape the windshield with a CD jewel case just to see out

Yeah, back when my dad had his Dodge Ram, the neighbors cat used to sleep in the engine bay. So everytime when my dad got in the car he'd honk his horn a few times. That way if the cat was in there, it'd probably be deaf, but it would run out.

I caught some wire, apparently I forgot a piece of it when I was doing the grounding mod earlier today.

I slammed the crap out of my finger in my hood today. >_<

There were pictures of a car that got a moose stuck in the hoodscoop...

I always cop a bird or two on the front end. Just use a stick and your done. I'm lucky that my scoop doesn't vent air to the intercooler at all, just to the turbo chimney. As it is the scoop itself doesn't stick out enough for it to be a danger to flying animals at all.
I have dried bird blood stains on my licence plate that aren't coming off!
