Anybody watching CART?

I haven't seen any chatter on it but I think it is a series worth watching. The rules need to be nailed down so that it doesn't come down to gambles on yellow flags but I think it is still a decent series. It's good to watch good drivers in "fast", relatively equal cars on road courses.

Yep, I still watch CART (or whatever it's called). Can't stand to watch the IRL cars going round and round. Almost might as well be watching NASCAR.

No. CART is dead and whatever they're calling this series will be soon as well.

Switching to spike tv has thrown me for a loop, I missed the last race because of that.

Yeah, I almost missed the first one becuase it was on Spike. They have good ideas and good marketing they just need to settle the series down. They still put on a good show. I hope it last or the IRL gets a clue and turns right sometime soon.

I tried to watch it but I got lost. I was like, "dude, have I been drinking? This shouldn't be that hard to follow." Having trucks pull start the cars after offs is very strange and apparently also dangerous. The cars seemed very slow compared to the F1 I was watching earlier that day, and the drivers a little less skilled. The coverage is also a little goofy.
All, in all, I would say it's like watching big shifter karts racing.

I'm a long time CART fan but I have pretty much completely lost interest over the last couple of years....IRL is lame too. I've watched a little of the Spike coverage, but the cars are looking big and outdated to me, and the fact that they are turbo isn't enough to excite me. The push to pass thingy is gimmickery and has not really been used effectively to make the races more interesting. The talent pool is not what it used to be, except for Bourdais, and maybe Allmendinger but he needs more development.

I've been more interested in ALMS, FIA GT/TC, BTCC, Grand-Am, and Speed WC in addition to rally, and F1 of course, (but up until Monaco that has been pretty lame, too). I've also been following F3000, F Renault V6 and FR2000 via internet, (you can find live timing feeds for most everything these days). That's where the good young drivers are. They are the future F1 drivers, the CART guys are not.

I'm also kind of excited about the upcoming 24 hrs of Nurburgring, and of course Le Mans. Boris Said is driving the Nurb 24 with Hans Stuck again this year. Earlier this month they won there together in another endurance race. The M3 GTR is his all-time favorite race car to drive, so it should definitely be fun to follow.
