i cant seem to get it to sit level i dont know what the deal is maybe if i drop the hanger down for the DP and let it drop down a lil in the front i dunno
but if i leave it at at little slope, id say 10 degrees is that bad for it? alex

You can have them at any angle you want really. Ever seen the setup on an rx-7? They sit kinda upside down towards the bottom of the engine. Only thing you need worry about is the gravity feed for the return line.

10° isn't bad. You need to be concerned about thrust bearing wear at angles higher then that, from what I've been told.

any angle i believe is fine. Most turbos are gravity feed from the oil return, so ya want to make sure that is angled downward, or you might get oil backing up. I dont know that it was cause a problem, but its always a good idea to have it flow directly back into the pan (or wherever you are dumping it)
As far as thrust bearings go... you are using a ballbearing turbo right? If not, I can't imagine it making much of a difference. I see them mounted every which direction... but then again, sounds like 8 might be onto something. Check into it more if your concerned. -Jake |
