Unhappy OT: So I washed and waxed the car yesterday.

And of course, it's absolutely P*SSING out there now...
Seeing as yesterday was gorgeous, I figured I'd treat my car before the Show n Shine.

Also, for those of you with canister mufflers; when washing your car, do you put something over the opening to prevent water going in? I mean, lets face it... it's not the best design to prevent water from getting in there.

There's not really much point protecting water from getting in. There is moisture coming out of it through the exhaust anyways and the temps will generally turn it to steam and get rid of it pretty quick.

it's perfectly fine to have water in there...
just don't flood it

a little bit of water condenses in the exhuast in the exhuast as you drive anyways (hence you sometimes see water dripping off cars infront of you)

as for the rain.. i don't mind the pouring ones. the drizzle is the worst... so not that bad.

I think they'd probably rather wash mine. Sure my front wheels look gunmetal as well, but at least they were silver, not white, to start with.
