Default Why is my exhaust traveling so far?

My exhaust was sent out 2-day air express, yesterday.

I was also given a tracking number, here's what the results say:

May 24, 2004 10:15 P.M. LAGUNA HILLS, CA, US DEPARTURE SCAN
9:45 P.M. LAGUNA HILLS, CA, US ORIGIN SCAN
8:36 P.M. LAGUNA HILLS, CA, US UPS INTERNAL ACTIVITY
8:36 P.M. LAGUNA HILLS, CA, US ORIGIN SCAN
6:03 A.M. ONTARIO, CA, US DEPARTURE SCAN

May 25, 2004 8:03 P.M. ATLANTA, GA, US DEPARTURE SCAN
7:07 P.M. ATLANTA, GA, US ARRIVAL SCAN
3:10 P.M. WEST COLUMBIA, SC, US DEPARTURE SCAN
1:55 P.M. WEST COLUMBIA, SC, US UPS INTERNAL
12:59 P.M. WEST COLUMBIA, SC, US ARRIVAL SCAN

So my exhaust has officially gone across the country, from California -> South Carolina -> Georgia. This is seriously ridiculous, I hope that I've been given the wrong tracking number.

Have any of you guys seen this happen with a package being shipped to Alaska?

Yeah, it happens all the time. Sometimes, the Seattle airport gets busy, and it's faster to send it to another airport (in this case, Atlanta), so it'll get there sooner than it would after the delays in Seattle. No matter where it goes, it still doesn't take long for an airplane to fly up here. Check again tomorrow morning; I bet it'll say Arrival Scan at Anchorage at around 3am, 5am, or something like that. Then it'll say Departure Scan at around 7-9am, and it'll be on a truck for delivery before 9:30. That's how it works 11 times outta 9.

Must be UPS? Their main hub is down south... so even though you send stuff from seattle it'll fly down south and then up here. Just the way their routing is.

Same goes for FedEx, their main hub is in memphis, TN. If you send stuff to asia overseas from here, it will fly from anchorage to memphis, TN and then back to anchorage and then to asia....lol

I work for FedEx and UPS/DHL routing is basically the same as ours.

Im sorry but ups sucks, Fedex is much better. They have a far better tracking system and are always on time for me.

Thanks guys,

It now says my package is in Montgomery, AL. Kind of weird that it's in Alabama, because at the beginning of this ordeal I thought "Maybe they sent it to some place in AL instead of AK" and now it's in AL.

Here's a photoshop I made for the my thread where I bitch about this in OT.

So cruel!

Reminds me of waiting for all my parts. And why did it take 3+ weeks to receive parts via 2nd day air.

Could be worse...I'm on week 10 waiting for my ZeroSports gauge pod to come via USPS. It's definately lost. I got my money back and ordered a Defi pod after 6 weeks, painted it, and installed it in the time that it has taken to not show up. Not to mention the 7-week backorder for it from JDM-land.

That sucks dude, I just e-mailed the company asking if they sent me the wrong tracking #.

I've seen this happen before, but never this bad. I love looking at my map, it cracks me up, what kind of a jerk would make a map retracing his packages "footsteps?" I'm a weird one, that's for sure.

UPS is OK, but I like FedEx a lot better. UPS travels a lot, but going from KONT to SC to GA and then to PANC is kinda weird. It seems like it would go direct from Nevada or one of there main hubs in the South. They fly 747's which can fly direct from SC or GA.

Oh well, at least it's on the east coast so it will get a 4 hour earlier start than it would if it were on the west coast.

Are you smuggling immigrants? If you are, I hope they poked some holes in the box for air. Ha ha!

That is very true, plus I would have saved $300

It'll work out better in the end, it has a very stealth look to it.

I'm pretty happy with it, with all this talk of APD cracking down on aftermarket exhausts, I decided to find something "oem looking."

I start work over at APD (Records Room) in a couple weeks, I would hate to get tickets every day when I show up to work.

The exhaust ended up going from Kentucky straight to Anchorage, I should get it installed tommorow before I take off to valdez for the weekend.
