2.25 or 2.5 exhaust for n1
I'm getting ready to purchase an apex n1 muffler. What size exhaust tubing should I use . 2.25 or 2.5 . I am not going to turbo the car. I am going to stay n/a. I am going to do an intake, may be cams ,afc, etc. Is there a performance difference between the 2.25 & 2.5. Also is there a good shop here in Los Angeles that can weld on the hangers and do the hole install. thanks, RallyeX ps: the best price I have gottin for the n1 muffer is 195..00 . Anybody know of a better price. [This message has been edited by RallyeX (edited May 17, 2000).]

I have a N1 exhuast with the 2.5 in cat back.
Running a 2.25 in downpipe with one high flow cat. I really like the setup but you might want to get a silencer for the N1, it gets pretty loud. Beside the exhuast mod i am also running a weapon R intake tube with the Blitz air filter. Everything runs very well planning to put a Super AFC to see if i can squeeze some some hp well bootomline is every mod is up to you to decide laters Michael |

I'd recommend you stay with 2.25 (57mm) I.D. as much as you can. I have the Apexi factory unit which supposedly uses 60mm (2.3") I.D. catback piping, and I wouldnt go ANY bigger if you're staying N/A.
by the way, Im getting my N1 muffler cut off at some point this week. It's too darn big. Ryan |
