Twin engine!
Have any of you guys tried twin engine's yet? A couple of times I have seen it in mags in the UK one was a mk1 Golf the other was a mini. The mini was pretty straight forward compared to the Golf from what I can remember of the articles. So is anyone up for it or do you think it would be too hard/expensive to do to an Impreza?

i saw a caddy with one of these. Pretty sick stuff...I never knew they made that! It had one engine in the front and another in the back!!! and you had to start the car twice I think they said that this cady had like 600hp and did the 1/4 mile in like 12-13 secs..I would love to have that Probably way to expensive with our cars though.

some guy here in Quebec has a Citroen 2CV with two WRX ver 2 motors, one in front one in back... 2CV's are known for that.

With 2 engines, 2 gearboxs but at different ends of the car ithink the weight distribution would be better, you would obviously lose the rear seat space to the second engine, but as far as petrol consumption increaseing this would only happen if you ran with both engines on all the time, one of the cars i saw in the mag only had one startermotor and would bump start the second when up to speed the gearleavers where simply joined with a metal bar and the throtle pedal was just split to the two engines but on the vw Golf it had a hydraulic clutch not a cable so there was quite a bit of work involved by the way the golf had two VR6 engines in it!

I bet the added weight sucks! How does this affect handling?

That Golf with 2 VR6's does 0-100 in 3 secs, got to start twice but thats a small price for brain numbing speed

Automorph-
Since we're talking about Europe here, I'm going to assume that's 100 kph, or 60 mph, right? I don't think that 348hp (1 VR6= 174hp) could push that car to 100 mph in 3 seconds... Jim 00 RS Sedan Silver |

I could be wrong, but I think that the engine's on the golf where or where about to have turbo's or supercharger's fitted to them, if it was turbo's then the car would of had easy 6-700 bhp! and o-100 would be quick as F*ck!
