OK im gettin my Minnam intake in a few days and its blue. The problem is that MY99 is black and it detailed in red. Any ideas on the best way to paint it red and keep in red.

I don't know myself but an idea came to mind... that extra paint might actually help in keeping the heat away from the tube as well.

I've been using high temp paint I got from Wal-Mart...have also seen it at AutoZone. Holds up to 500 degrees. All different colors...yellow, blue, red, sliver...

Hey Rally guy
Where have you been using that paint? On the intake tube or other places as well?

BoomerRS,

I painted the vent covers yellow so when you look at the vents you see the black mesh with the yellow below. Looks nice IMHO...Not ricey since it's so mellow. It's just a reminder of where the RS's roots are...

You can also see the $4.00 mud flaps I got at Wal-Mart...whoo hoo! I got'em in a hurry for the rallycross...they work great but they're kinda stiff...I'd prefer to get some that are softer and quieter.

I found a place that makes sirens for fire engines that powder coats them red, and they will powder coat all kinds of things for me.

That's what you should do - powdercoat.

Take a look at the job they did on these motorcycle wheels and handlebar end caps - www.ImprezaRS.com/bandit600a.jpg and www.ImprezaRS.com/bandit600b.jpg
