Default Can someone confirm this cicada rumor?

I heard at work that only 25% of the cicadas have "arrived". I just counted 45 cicadas on the tree trunk of a 2-3" thick tree. The population in this area is tremendous. I can only imagine how crazy it will be in a few weeks if this rumor is true.

Yeah, so far I have been disappointed. I was expecting swarms of the guys flying around, and although they are pretty loud and noisy right now, it isnt nearly as bad as people were making it out to be.

well the ammount of growth in this area from 1987 has really put a stop to alot of the cicadas too.. just because alot of them were killed while digging and stuff

Depends on where you live. In Sterling/Dulles............ not much; I can hear them, but not see them.

Vienna/Tysons.............looks like a hornet's nest around most large trees, hordes of their corpses litter the ground...

I don't think that the 25% rumor is true.

Word

The current situation is _wayyyyyyyy_ lighter/lesser than it was the last time around. In fact its easy to forget they are even here.

What the heck happened?!
