Cool Anyone wanna go fishing tomorrow out of Long Beach?

I'm not sure if there are any ocean fishermen/women on here, but I figured I'd post.

I made reservations today for me and 2 friends on the Enterprise out of LB Marina Sportfishing. My 2 friends cancelled, so I wanted to see if anyone wants to go. The landing is holding 3 spots for me... I'm going no matter what but have 2 spots if someone wants to go. I have tackle/rods/reel you can use.

Boat leaves at 6am but we need to be there at 5am to claim the reservation.

It's $40 plus fishing license (if needed), which is around $10.

Food, soda, snacks, beer all served on the boat.

Probably going to Catalina to fish (no gaurantee), and the calico bass and barracuda have been almost wide open lately. I hope it holds up for tomorrow.

Anyone?

btw, I do this all summer, so if anyone likes to fish maybe we can hook up. I usually fish Marina Del Rey or Long Beach/San Pedro area, but make a trip or two to San Diego for tuna in the summer.

tight lines, burnt drags...

Matt-

Lets put an overnight charter together in late summer if there are enough fishermen and women here. The El Dorado out of Long Beach Sportfishing is a super boat. It sleeps about 45 comfortably and fishes about 35 very well. Usually fishes around San Clemente island for tuna, yellowtail, dorado. August Sept October usually best. Got wasabi and soy? Anybody?

Report:

37 people rode the Enterprise. We chased barracuda up and down the coast all day long. I managed 14 cudas, 2 calicos and 1 of the largest sculpin I've ever seen. Everything was caught throwing iron or on a plastic, except the sculpin which I caught while bait fishing. I threw everything back, as I'm still eating the 65lb. bluefin I caught last August (amen for the foodsaver).

The crew was good, and the captain went the extra distance for us. The boat usually returns at 4, but he got a call at 3:45 from the Freelance (another boat) that said the cuda and white seabass (yes, white seabass) were biting in an area about 40 minutes south of us. Without hesitation, Andy (captain) headed down there to close out the day. We managed a handful of cudas, but no white seabass. We didn't get back to the dock til 5:30, and this boat was turning right around for a twilight trip leaving at 6:30. To me, that's a seriously dedicated captain and I would recommend this 3/4 day boat to anyone.

I'm down for an overnight charter, but to be honest, it's alot more productive to make the trip down to san diego. I know San Clemente can produce, but not like the waters 80 miles south of san diego can.
