Question Baja Beach Patrol

Does anyone know if NJ is using the Baja on the beaces again this year?

Assuming they havent sold their fleet that they bought last year, I'd say yes.

I was in AC last week but I didnt see any. I think they are mostly at Wildwood and OC.

What would they do with them, after 1 year of use? I suppose they could sell them back, or auction them off. But IMHO they wouldn't get top dollar, especially if they were used on the beach.

The article said between Memorial day and Labor Day. Well duh, thats when they need to patraol the beaches most. I'm guessing they get put back into service every Memorial Day?

It was most likely a one time stint whereby the beach associations cut a short term lease/rental period for last summer.

I don't know how much money these groups typically throw around but buying 13 of these for a few months a year usage seems outrageous to me. I'd rather see the money going to saving coastal erosion et al than buying more expensive vehicles for college kids to drive from tower to tower and sit there on the beach the rest of the time.

Hey,

I was down the shore this weekend and saw the N.Wildwood, Sea Isle city, and Ocean City Bajas, so yeah, they are out doing what we would love to do.
