Default Military people in Japan, I'm coming to Japan this summer...

Are there any military people on NASIOC, stationed in Yokosuka that could show me the sites (performance shops ) , around Tokyo, and Yokosuka. I know Prova is in Yokahama, and I plan on going there, along with the local Autobacs since they are as common as Auto-Zones over there. I would like to go to STi in Tokyo. I would maybe like to go to HKS Kansai, and perhaps Blitz, if it isn't to far out of the way. I am looking to get a Turbo over there, some wheels for my wife's FXT, and some other stuff. I also found Crystal autosports factory in Chiba City in a magazine a couple months back, and they sound right up my avenue, good parts cheap. Zerosports would be cool, Pleasure racing, and Syms racing would be nice to go to also.

Anyone got any other websites I should know about before I leave. I have searched the japanese yellow pages on-line looking for places to hit. I am an E-6 and will have some money to spend.

If anyone over there can help, please reply and a way to contact you when I get over there. I am unable to discuss time frame I will be there at this time unfortunately.

Andy

Lucky dog, while you're at it, source a STI Spec drivetrain in a junkyard and send it over

Dude I really wan't to find a Spec-C gearset lying around over there. I could easily bring that back. You would be surprised how much crap you can fit on a submarine. Plus customs can't go into about half of our spaces when we return to port. What they don't know, won't hurt em.

Haaaaa, lucky dog. I tried getting one of my boys to part out a whole Type RA drivetrain to swap into my old coupe. He had problems understanding the Misawa junkyard guy but apparently they had tons of parts.

Yeah, but umm you can get them a lot cheaper if you put in the work to source one in Japan and send it over your self especially if you have a friend over there already like I do.

I need a full v7 STi drivetrain, then my RS would kick serious ass.

Stuff is a lot mor affordable over there from the sites I have been to so far doing research. I am not going to let this oppritunity pass me by. My wife doesn't want me to get stationed over there, so I am taking advantage of this deployment. I have seen prices on S13's and S14's for about $6,000 over there, now If I could just fit a Silvia on a submarine.

But I will buy subaru parts none the less.

I think you're kinda missing the point, I pay no customs fees, no shipping, just the cost of the parts, and hauling back to the submarine, and stowing it. Since the subaru engine block halves, I could get an engine through the hatch. Tranny and JDM short block would be nice.

When you get to Japan, PM me. I need a few cases of Georgia coffee (you'll know what it is when you get there.) I'll of course paypal you the fundage first. You can send it MPS, so shipping won't cost either of us. I was in Japan for four years, stationed in Yokosuka. As far as performance shops, I couldn't tell you exactly where any of them are. Most of the ones that I have seen were in Yokohama, as I was there as much as I could be. Might want to bring a camera with you, and take some pics of the Skylines over there. Enjoy your trip!
