Question new rimmer supercharger, what you think?

Has anyone seen or tried rimmers redesigned suppercharged system. You should check it out on their site www.rimmersuperchargers.com. Let me know because I am looking into them.

I prepaid in full and never saw kit or refund...nor has Rimmer returned any of my calls/faxes, etc. Those who actually received kits are in the minority. Be warned.

I have the Rimmer kit and it works perfect. In fact, I don't even have a "check engine" light. If you want to take a look: http://208.9.184.110/MembersList/Vie...m?MemberID=944

I am also running 80 PSI of fuel pressure at max boost with a Mazda RX7 twin-turbo fuel pump. The car rocks! I am one happy customer, no complaints.

If anyone on the list paid for but did not recieve a supercharger kit, they should contact the company via email, to the attention of Brandon Grantham at: bsg951@earthlink.net

Question

Hey SabreLion, If you have got the funds to pay for a supercharger & never get it than you should have the money to get on a plane,or pay for the gas for a trip to colorado springs to pull your money outta someones rear. Colorado isn't too shabby a place to visit either, please just don't move there enough people have done that in the last few years.

I have been thinking about getting one of these but I have heard way to many stories about the way Rimmer does business (long delays, asking for deposits and payments when no product existed yet, etc). It is too bad because I really want to get a supercharger and it looks like Rimmer is the only game in town. Maybe I will call and get one COD or something. Either way I will be waiting to see if they change the way they do business.

Guys,

Why don't you do what I've done just book an appointment and have Rimmer install the s/c at his place in Colorado Springs?
I had decided to make the trip as part of a two-week vacation. The countryside is fantastic. I got to see Pike's Peak, Las Vegas, the Rockies and the Grand Canyon. It was well worth the trip.
Rimmer charged $300 for the install. It was worth every penny after seeing the amount of work they put into it. They provided us a supercharged Daewoo as a loaner for the two days they worked on my car. They even billeted us at a B&B free of charge. Once the work was completed, I paid him his due.

A supercharged Daewoo as a loaner car. I am headed up there right now.

Hey RalliSpec, can I use your turbo Rally Celica as a loaner car during my next installation?

Hey Guys,

I live in Colorado Springs. Although I haven't had any business dealings with Rimmer, I did go talk to them about their kit. FYI - Rick Rimmer also owns a reputable Honda repair facility that has been around for awhile and I've heard good things about. I talked to Brandon there and he said only about 3 kits have been sold for MY00 2.5 Imprezas. He told me that one of the guys that installed the kit was having an idle problem due to the MAP sensor. He suggested I wait a few weeks until they have worked through the MAP issue and they have more info on how the kit runs on the 00s.

Hey ARG . . . thanks for all your input on this kit. I have enjoyed reading your posts on the Rimmer kit. Brandon told me that your brother is running a Rimmer kit in Woodland Park. Is that true? I'd like to see the kit and talk to him about his experiences.

thanks

I live in Colorado Springs too. Punk, we should get together sometime, and beg for a supercharted ride. Are you going to the autocross at Coor's Field 27th street parking lot 6/24/00 and 6/25/00?

I'll be there.

PS: I didn't know rimmer only charges $300 to install. I might let them do it instead. It will be a little while before I have the money saved up. We're spending all our money on three 5-day-4-night vacations this summer, and $550 to fix my wife's car A/C next month.

Thumbs down

Archie,
Unfortunately, your logic is flawed. I don't have the money anymore, after purchasing a Minnam Stage-2 TurboKit. All attempts to contact Rick Rimmer have been met with failure. I may need to persue other methods...
