Default difference in 02 wrx ecu vs 03 wrx ecu?

just curious, im going for a swap and wondered if they had a minor difference like wire colors or some bs like that.

Nope. I swapped my 02 ECU for a flashed 03 ECU and everything's the same. I have heard that you can't go 03 to 02 though.

Only major difference is the fuel tank pressure sensors which are in the 2003 wrx's, but not in the 2002. If you do a 2.5 swap you'll have to pick the wires out of the wrx harness anyway. Just make sure you have the correct wiring diagrams for the correct ECU and take your time.

I have an 03 in MY02 and i have a p1446 fuel pressure evaporite code. I just ignore it.
