Question Understanding the EJ22T PCV System.

I'm asking this here since there isn't much activity at Legacycentral.org, and perhaps someone here might be able to shed some light.

OK. So the EJ22T block has an extra crankvent coming from the center as seen in the pic below, (The STi 2.5L has one also, just a bit further back the block)

Anyways, I found the following Subaru diagram, explaining the routing of the PCV system, if you look carefully, THAT vent goes straight back into the heads! I currently have it teed off to the PCV hoses, and my catchcan is seeing a little bit of oil, which I know for a fact that is coming from that center vent.

I'm trying to figure out a way to route that vent into my SOHC 2.5 heads.
Thoughts?

-Vic

Thanks Alan.

Jay, I wish I could, but my car is all back together and that part is covered by the alternator. I'll see if I can digup some other peoples project pics.

Here is a cutout shot of an EJ22T, you can spot the vent on the left with the U shaped rubber hose on it.

I talked to Marc Rameriz (aka Xephyr) about this for a bit and he has just capped it. It isn't really needed, so the easiest solution it to just seal it up. He did the same when he swapped out from the EJ22T to the EJ257 a few months ago...

I believe Joe Cox, and Drac9 have done the same on their EJ22T hybrids...

Bringing this back, I was able to find the following diagram in the mess of my files.

So, according to the stock Subaru setup, THAT piping needs to dump back into the heads.
(Time to tap my RS heads)

it goes back into the intake pipe called "boot B" which connects to the turbo.
