You can take out everything except the intake plenum that is just behind the throttle body and then run a tube to the fenderwell. Don't run it in there too deep or your risk water coming up in there and getting sucked in. Mine was just inside the hole and I plowed through a puddle and I sucked up some water and soaked my filter for a bit. Bad Bad Bad.

I have had no problems with my custom intake and an AMSOIL filter in the stock MY00 airbox. Nothing on the end of the tubing, and it goes about 3" into the inner fender.

Question intake cone

I know the intake question has been around for a while now, but I can't seem to figure out if those that have the custom intake going into the fender well, have anything at the end of their tubing or piping. Is it possible to still put the cone in the fender well for even more filtering? I have a my00 and decided to go the way of custom intake until Rallispec comes out with their stuff. And on the my00, their's no tubing or hoses that need to be connected to the intake right? That's the whole MAF stuff I'm assuming?
Any help on this would be appreciated.
thanks

Question

Wouldn't it be okay if a little water was sucked up into the engine? Some of the turbo guys in UK use water injection to help prevent detonation so if that's ok, I guess a little water in a N/A shouldn't hurt either. What do you guys think?

Thumbs down

absolutely not! water in your engine is very very bad bad bad! 1 tablespoon is enough to break a rod, you see water doesn't compress like air. the uk guys use very small amounts of atomized water. kinda like cold but humid air.
