Thumbs up Problem, rear diff is leaking.

got under my car to find my bump stops (with no sucess) and i noticed my rear diff was shiney. i felt around the unit and my hand was coated in a light film of oil. the driver's side axle seems to be where the leak is coming from.

is it leaking? or possibly it was "overflow" from the factory (car is only 7 monthes old and have never washed the underside of the car)?

i've already sprayed the rear diff with degreaser and whacked it with the power washer. this way i guess i can tell if it stays dry.

any thoughts?

Sounds like there might be a small leak. If it had been from the factory, it would have had enough dirt & dust go by it to dry it up by now.

BTW, thumbs up for the problem, huh?

It will also leak if the vent on top of the rear diff is bolcked - it is a small hole on the top. Otherwise if it still leaks, than you likely have a bad seal.
