Default TD05H-16G, 18G, 20G "Subaru Style"

Hey gang! This is our first post here on nasioc.com and appreciate the opportunity to serve such a great enthusiast community. A little background first, we have more than 16 years experience with our most tenured tech (part owner). The obvious here is that you're dealing with a knowledgeable staff and can get the expert guidance that you need. I've personally been interested in the Subaru scene going back to July 2000, at which point, I found a new passion - turbocharged Subarus!

Well enough about us. Let me tell you what we've found for you. Since East Coast Turbo, LLC has been around the turbo circles going back many years, we've also had the opportunity to acquire special pricing. This pricing will be passed on to you!

We've just got our hands on a stock of new TD05H-16G turbos. Make no mistake here, these are not your regular 16G's. These are GENUINE OEM SUBARU 16G'S , complete with direct bolt-on flanges. The only difference from our USDM WRX's is that they have an elbow on the inlet that we take off before it ships out. This way it has the striaght through front side inlet like our US versions. This is easily done with our machining facilities at no cost to you.

So for the down and dirty:

BRAND NEW! TD05H-16G Intro special = $749

This special intro is good through the end of June 30, 2004!

Upgrades: - ECT Hi-Flow option = add $129
- Ceramic Coating on turbine housing option = add $80

FAQ:

Does the ECT product come with a warranty?
YES! Infact, we give our customers a FULL one (1) year from the time of purchase warranty!

What's involved with the ECT "Hi-Flow" option?
It's pretty straight forward. We work out the kinks in the inlet side of the turbine down into the housing (smooth out the sharp/rough exhaust flow inhibiting edges and match port the turbine gasket to the inlet area). This will offer a quicker spool over the standard cast housing.

What kind of performance does the Subaru TD05H-16G offer?
Not to get too technical but at 5k rpms and 28lbs/min, you can expect to flow up to 21+psi efficiently and manually taper down to 17+ psi by 7K rpms flowing 35lbs/min. You can max out STI injectors with this turbo depending on tune.

ADDED TO INVENTORY TODAY!
BRAND NEW! TD06-18G/TD05 Intro special = $995

This price is phenominal! Others are selling the TD05-18G for as much as $1195.00

BRAND NEW! TD06-20G/TD05 Intro special = $1045
This price is phenominal! Others are selling the TD05-20G for as much as $1295.00

Hey guys. Thanks for the warm reception

InfamousDX -
It's been said to deliver 10 psi by 2200rpms and by 2800rpms it can produce 15psi. This would be in fouth gear of course and tuning plays a part in spool up too. It seems like a lot of guys out there with the VF30's and such are actually favoring the 16G's over their VF's. What makes this turbo so good is the turbine wheel/AR to compressor wheel/AR combination. It has the small 16G wheel, which maxes out at 36.4 lbs/min (520 cfm). Compared to the stocker 13G, it's night and day.

wrex03 -
Not at the moment but it's something we are considering. We will probably make the option to upgrade the TD05H to an 18G but nothing firm on that yet. We are currently in the process of fabricating an all together better solution for the guys wanting to make the BIG power. We believe our solution will be a better suited option than the Mitsu 20G for instance. Should be a few more weeks left before we're ready to bring it to market. In the mean time, we've got 16G's for guys looking to make good streetable power with the 16G's

Is this ball bearing? Does it spool as fast as VF34 if it's with the exact same tuning?

Wow, you guys are tough Seriously though, I'll do my best here.

wRxbeater11 -
I believe 275whp WITH the mods you listed shouldn't be too hard to reach. Of course, let's assume that you've got a UTEC or something in place as well, okay.

orwrx -
Actually this is a wet sleeve bearing as opposed to a ball bearing type CHRA. The nice thing here is that it's a quick spooler based on it's fin design to compressor and turbine housings. MHI hit the head on the nail with it for a 2.0L

XS_WRX -

Yeah, thanks, hopefully the rest of the turbo world isn't too pissed with us now Anyway, it IS a direct bolt on! "No modding neccessary.

Not sure that many VF30's are making 300whp at all? I haven't heard of any I don't recall. I'm talking 93 octane by the way so please correct me if I'm wrong?

wRxbeater11-

Are you asking because you're curious about getting one? Just wondering what's the motivator behind your question. Anyhow, you can expect similar numbers to a PE1818. Although the 1818's comp map flows about 2 lbs/min more, the P18 side on that turbo holds it back. The turbos are different sure but the 16G IMO is a better turbo for the reasons I've already stated above. The 16G has a hell of a midrange punch and can do 300whp on YOUR dynojet

Yes, I do plan on getting one. Don't think IM trying to bash your turbos in anyway shape or form. But before I buy things I like to gather as much info on the item before buying it. I just didn't know what to compare this turbo to that's all. How's spool time? Spools like a 30/34? thanks for the info. Oh and dyno sheets are always welcomed

No problem, Melo! I'm the same, an educated buyer too Here's the challenge though, our shop car is in pieces right now in for our BIG turbo project so putting the 16G in our car isn't possible. With some time, you will begin to see folks start to post dyno charts on these. Actulally, if there's someone around the Charlotte, NC metro area, I will even road-tune one (1) WRX for the sake of creating a map for the UTEC and I will gladly give it out. But for now, you will have to look for data on the nasioc.com forum and else where. I can tell you that the math for the compressor map DOES NOT LIE. It flows a considerable amount of air.

Thanks,
Todd

1.) 12 months period! Unlimited miles.
2.) Spool up = better than your VF30

I haven't seen a single negative comment about the 16G! Folks rave about it's mid-range PUNCH and overall power.

Hey Melo, your questions are welcome and are NOT "bugging" me. If I could teach you how to read a compressor map you could see what I mean as to "mid-range punch". Of course, there's more to it than that (also turbine A/R).

Let me know Melo, I'll be happy to you.

Thanks again,
Todd

ECT--
You have no idea how excited to get this turbo. I think this thing is gonna rock like crazy in legacy wagon. I have looked high and low for a good price on a 16g.

These guys were super cool, got me all hooked up on fast shipping and Im gonna get a t-shirt(cool bonus for a really cheap guy like me!!)

I will be getting my car dyno tuned when it all goes together, in a couple of weeks. I'd be happy to post my results.

Thanks East Coast Turbo,
Andrew
