Default Great Weekend

I had a great weekend and just had to share.

Friday I go to get my oil changed and end up talking the guys who work there into trying autocrossing. They were very interested in my car, it was alot of fun.

Then I go to my local tire place for an alignment and the guy working the counter there is asking all about my car. Then I tell him that I want a performance alignment for autocross and HE wants to know all about it now.
The alignment really changed the feel of the car around tight corners even with the stock tires. I went with Zuffy's suggestion of -1.5 degrees camber and 0 toe all around.

My boss offered me a bonus. He's impressed with my performance on the last contract so he offered to buy me a set of tires. So Saturday I picked up a set of Kumho Ecsta MX's 205/55/16. He then said the tires wern't as much as he thought they might be (they were $900 installed) and gives me $450 cash as well!
On my way home I spot a WRB WRX and speed up to catch them. When I do all three people in the car wave madly and the horn starts blaring! I love owning this car.

Saturday afternoon for my birthday my inlaws took me out to get a present for my birthday. A helmet for autocrossing!

Saturday night My wife and I did Dinner and a movie, I even got an additional treat if you know what I mean.

Sunday I had set up meeting with two different guys about my mustang for sale. One guy ended up being late so they arrived at the same time. After test drives I basicly just sat there while they argued over who was going to buy it. I ended up with my full asking price, in cash, on the spot.

Then, tonight, I talked my wife into a rear sway bar for my birthday as well.

Very satisfying weekend.

Glad you like the performance alignment! It seems like a little thing, but just seems to make the car feel and work so much better. I guess it's all about making the most of the front contact patches.

Wow, a little "you know what I mean" and a RSB. Lucky man. Hummm, with the alignment and stickier tires you'll be great competition.

I'm in construction, a Sprinklerfitter (fire protection, not lawns!) and on a large job I had 500 man hrs or so left. Which gets him a bonus so he handed some of it down to me.
So far the alignment feels great. I'm hoping wear won't be too bad, but I really don't have any idea yet. I wonder how it will feel in winter?

Thanks for the alignment specks Zuffy. I really hope to be some good competition for you soon. I definatly need more seat time though. Are you going June 19th?

Where did you get your performance alignment and how much did it cost? I was at an autocross last weekend and scrubed off a lot off the edge of my right front.

I had my alignment done at Kal-tire in Leduc. It's supposed to be 75$ including tax. I got mine for 58$ tax included

Rally is 90$ plus tax. And I'm sure it would be the best place to go but I'm cheap.

I assume you have aftermarket camber bolts fitted in the bottom hole and stock adjusting bolts in the top hole, or you have camber plates. Please elaborate.

Zuffy's wheel alignment settings are correct. Whitelines suggested settings.

By adjusting the stock eccentric bolt at the top hole, WRX's should be able to get -1.5 deg camber.

My suspension is currently 100% stock. It was explained to me that there is just enough adjustment available to get -1.5 degrees camber up front and the rear is -1.5 degrees already stock. Does this make sense?

FWIW
I have yet to see a USDM WRX get over -1 deg on the front with just the stock adjuster.

FWIW
My STI has -1.7 on the front using stock adjuster bottom and aftermarket on the top. This was almost maxed out.

Maybe my alignment guy is the problem, although I don't think so as I do it with him. interesting
