Default Cat Back Exhaust suggestions for my WRX?

COBB? Prodrive? Bosal? HKS? APEXi? Helix?

- I am looking for a substantial performance gain (~20hp), no fart cans and I want to spend between $750 - $1100 CAD.

discuss.

check out www.ultimate-racing.com out of toronto. Their catback system will give you 20hp to the ground. They have the dyno charts to prove it.

20 hp from just a cat-back??? sounds far too high, perhaps a TBE would free this up, but not a cat-back w/ stock downpipe (IMHO)

Just make sure if you plan on eventually getting a catless downpipe to get a quiet cat-back as the downpipe will make it twice as loud.

Look again. Their stage I is K&N Air filter and CAT-back only. No wucking fay that puts 20hp to the ground as claimed. If it does, they've done something no-one else has achieved.

Up-pipe and down pipe with reflash is stage 2.

We are talking about a different system -- I have no knowledge of the www.ultimate-racing.com system (other than what I saw on their site).

The one I am interested in is the Helix:

Helix 30+ AWHP Package
-Helix Flex-section Uppipe
-Helix Cast Bellmouth Downpipe
-Helix Cat-Back Exhaust System
-Includes all gaskets, bolts, cel fix, etc.

The ultimate racing stage one is not just a catback.....it replaces from the downpipe back with 3" piping and removes the third cat and resonator. I have the stage one now and I have pulled away from stock WRX's.

The dyno all their kits and sent me the results from a couple cars with the stage 1. Call them and speak to them directly.

Wasn't trying to argue. Sure you should be beating stock WRXes with your setup. But the original post was asking about Cat-backs AND the web site specifically calls the Stage 1 as cat-back and air filter. Think that's why some of us are getting confused.
I'm thinking that Switch really meant Turbo-back in given his subsequent post.
The web-site is at best misleading. They list the Stage 1 at $1050 and claim 20 whp. Click on the cat-back image and they show you a turbo-back with high flow cat but they want $1650 for the turbo-back. I don't doubt that will get 20 whp. Different animal, different price tag.

Catbacks yielding 20awhp i find hard to believe, but a turbo back with uppipe can yield 30+awhp. I definately look into some form of engine management to maximize your setup though.
