I posted at the begining of the week that my '05 sti tranny had lost first and second gears.I got it to dd at around noon on monday they called me on tuesday and said the tranny was dead and a new one was coming from Toronto. On Tuesday I was told it might take a week or two to completly repair. Then on Friday afternoon I got a call saying my car was done. YES!!! I can't believe it they got it all the way from Toronto and installed in 3 or 4 days.I just picked the car up this morning. And it feels just like new so the car has 3200 km and the tranny about 85 km.With this type of warranty service I'll be buying another subaru in the future.I was so enthused I ended up pulled over on my way home but I got off with a warning cop
me .I am looking forward to an uneventful 3 or 4 years out of this car.

NO NO NO I was even going to ask you not to mention my hehe wal-mart brand seat covers and steering wheel cover that I got as a present 3 years ago and have been in the back of a closet until last month.I work with paint all day and I don't want to destroy the interior. As soon as I sell my old cars I'll get a van for work then problem solved. But as it is I hate the sti seats they are to wide on the bottom. When I take a corner I slide from side to side the lower "bolstering" I think it is called is about 3 cm too wide the seat covers take up some of the slack but you are right they are ugly and tacky
.I don't know what was exactly wrong with the tranny and I was told I may never find out weird eh! I don't care as long as it does not happen again.WOW your question just got me thinking I wonder if I could have gotten a '04 tranny in my '05 car oh no I am going to look into this.If they are exactly the same I won't care but is the new type of front diff located in the tranny then I'll care if it is a '04 or '05. |

classic. Good to hear you got it back without any additional costs impulse. I'd still like to know what caused this one to fail though. It's strange that such a new part could fail so dramatically. |

Glad to hear you got good service, but I'd still be annoyed that it broke in the first place.

I was at work from 8-7 today so I could not go to the service dept but here is what I am thinking right now.1)I was not even asked how this happened just what was wrong.2)I was told it would take 1-2 weeks(s) it was over in almost three days.....good or bad? read on 3)I have received absoutly no paper work on this whole transaction,That I find to be sightly weird. 4)I was told twice that the paper work was not ready but I could come pick up my car anytime. My BIG question is did they toss in a "bulletproof" proven '04 because they might know of some possible problem with the upgraded front diff in the '05.I am not jumping to conclusion's but I want to be sure what is in my car you would be curious too right?.I'll update when I get some info.......Later Justin
