Default How long have you waited for your AccessPort?

Mods: Sorry if this is the wrong forum... I couldn't figure out where I should put this thread, please move it if needed.

I'm looking to get an AccessPort by the late August an then hit the track at the tail end of this season, in the fall.

For the guys who have ordered AccessPort, how long did it take / is it taking to get to you?

I want to time my order right so I have it before Sept., and judging from how long Cobb is taking to ship my catback, I may have to order WAY in advance.

Thanks!
-Vin

Ordered on March 29th...originally told 6 weeks

Sent COBB an email on June 1st, just to check on the order status

Received a response today: "According to your order date, we should be shipping your AccessPort within 1-2 weeks*. We are currently shipping order dates 3/24 and 3/25.

*This is an estimated time frame that can change at any time."

I ordered mine April 5th and was originally told that I would get it in the middle of May. I am getting a little pissed off about the lack of communication and lieing about shipping dates.

First of all I paid 600 dollars for this thing and they can't even keep me up to date through email about my order? The last email I recieved was on the 6th of april.

Second when they see the orders come piling in then why wouldn't they hire more workers to fill the backorders? Why did they start making STi and Forester accessports that use the same components when they have backorders from 2-3 months ago?!?! Also they shipped many accessports out to retailers so they can sell to people that weren't even signed up on the preorder, what is up with that?

Disgruntled accessport wanter....

It's not a labor issue. It's a parts/forecast/lead time/supplier issue. Read this with an open mind and you'll understand the situation WE the customers caused.

Thanks for the info.

My terse posting makes me sound angry, but I'm patiently waiting.

(with a bone stock WRX, also waiting for downpipe. Uppipe is on the shelf, also waiting.)

I read that whole post and understand that. I also read that they only have enough man hours to make 150 access ports a week. I am to understand that they now have plenty of parts and are just trying to get them together. I was told that the parts issue was about a month ago and was resolved, the reason for the shortage now is labor.

Also can you explain why they shipped out accessports to retailers or why they started making STi and Forestor accessports with a 2-3month backorder or wrx parts?

I ordered March 22, received on June 2. 72 days I waited, and my experience seems to be pretty typical. Trust me, it's worth the wait.... I have stage 1, and the difference is very noticable now that the ECU has learned its way around.

from my understanding they are also shipping them to 3rd party vendors.

I ordered may 18th and I might start checking with pricing from 3rd party vendors.

if they can cut me a reasonable deal, and cobb is going to take too long, I'll just go that route and get it sooner.

I really don't want to wait too much longer. it sounds pretty rediculous the ammount of time people have to wait.

Seriously. I think I might have to go that route too. Does anybody know of any 3rd party vendors offhand?

I mean - if they have them in stock, why wait?

i ordered late April and i think i might have it by Dec or so...... I do have to say that in my line of work (automotive) if we have orders that we do not get filled on time it goes against our customer ratings and we have to give credit to there accounts because we told them we would have there product and we dont...

p.s. im still waiting patiantly (sp?)

cant check my logs at the moment but i think i ordered mid april, so im cusping on the 6-8 week quoted time myself, never recieved any update other than the one right after ordering that said we expect to ship in 6-8 weeks. its the only thing im waiting for parts wise, sucks, that was the first thing i ordered and here a short month and a halfish later ive got a small fortune in parts waiting for it to go on. hope it will be worth it. if they are shipping to 3rd party vendors in lieu of fufilling pre orders that would pretty much suck.

I rodered mine in early February and received in April. So around 2 months but COBB stated that hopefully by June all the back orders would be filled and turn around time would be fast by middle of the year.
