Yeah, we had a local ad that had a side blurb that said "Come in and order your WRX today!"

That's the dealer advertising, not Subaru.

For anyone who has the new WRX brochure, doesn't it look and feel like the brochure for any other Subaru model? I think the marketing/brand management folks at SOA have no idea how to advertise the car, what market to key it to, what drivers to appeal to. Could it be they are really this square with regards to such a potentially hot vehicle? I wonder what the ad campaigns in the UK and Australia looked like.

From what I saw, all the SOA's marketing budget is spent on Outback/Forester. Sometimes on Legacy but SOA never spent a dime on Impreza line (OBS now belongs to Outback line). OB line is there main cash cow with Foresters half way behind. Imprezas are just side dishes. One month sale of OBs are almost as much as a whole year of Imprezas.

Today's Denver Post! Full page ad from John Elway Subaru featuring the WRX. Guess word is gonna get out now! No mention of price in the ad, just to order now. It does mention "227 HP turbocharged Boxer engine" and "VTB All Wheel Drive System".

Also it says "Brand new 2001 Impreza RS - over 10 available" Better get those RS's sold soon guys!

Foxbat - Actually, Subaru has spent a couple of dimes on the Impreza. Just not lately. A couple of years ago Speedvision commercials during the rally had an RS. There were a couple of different ones with Judge Reinhold and another showing an RS and shots of the rally car in action.

Thanks for inform me of that commercial. I never watch Speedvision so I guess Subaru just wasted its ads money. Hehehe

Seriously, that's a good targeted commercial.

Well, that's from dealer not from SOA. I'm glad SOA didn't put any money in advtising WRX so that I can get one easy and cheap
