The first one was degreaser, the second one was the phosphate coat and the third one was rust-proofing/primer applied in some sort of cathodic electrocoating process.

Apparently they use real emu feathers to dust off the body before painting. To paint it, the body is given a negative electric charge, too, so it attracts the paint particles.
