Question How bad is a lowered car in Calgary?

In Sept, I'll be bringing down my Legacy from Vancouver to Calgary for school. Its lowered and I'm wonder how bad is it to have a lowered car in Calgary during winter. Do all you guys with lowered cars just don't drive during winter and store your car in the garage?

Thanks

Edward

They only thing you have to worry about in Calgary compared to Van is the pebbles they use in winter for traction. Expect stone chips - alot. If it were Edmonton instead of Calagry there would be many more roads you'd have to avoid. Compared to a few you'd have to be careful of in Calgary. Make sure you have winter tires for any Alberta town. It's no joke they are a necessity in winter. I've lived in all 3 cities, so I have 1st hand exp.

it depends how low you are. i was lowered 2" from stock last winter and i had some serious problems during the big snow storms. got high centered a few times too.

It'll be ok.. I survived the last Calgary winter using Toyo Observes G-02 winters with H&R and AGX shocks that lowered my RS by 1.5" front and 1.8" rear, while dragging an Apexi N1 cannister around town.

Nothing stopped my Subaru AWD!! I didn't know its capabilities in snow and ice til I moved there and back.

And expect A LOT of chips on your windshield as well. Mine was sandblasted for my 10 months there, driving on Deerfoot. Damn trucks..
