Default Sad day

Another Subaru accident. Today on the way home from work I was rear ended. The impact was so hard it threw my sunglasses, which I was wearing into the back seat. It also broke the ratchet on the drivers seat. I had it towed to Showcase Autobody so we'll see what they have to say about the repairs.
1 ton cube trucks that are fully loaded pack quite a punch. He pushed the rear bumper into the rear wheels, making it undriveable.

That sucks dude. Hopefully you are okay from it all. Your health is more important than your car.

Did this happen heading south on 75th st. in the late afternoon? If so then I saw it happen. I was heading north. My condolences.

Russ.

Were you hurt? I hope not. Sorry to hear about that. To be honest I didn't even know that was your car. I completely didn't recognise it. I really hope things work out for you.

Sorry to hear this, hope all works out for you.
As well I hope you are ok. Cars are MUCH easier to fix humans.

Whoa, very sorry to hear that happened. That sounds like a massive hit considering the forces and damage. Most importantly I hope you are ok.

Thanks for the concern. I am a little stiff today, I went to the hospital to get checked out last night and everything seems fine but time will tell.

WxMan - yeah that was me on 75 st.

More details on the accident: There was a dog that ran out into the curb lane, I was travelling in the middle lane, then started back towards the side of the road and ran back in front of my car. I noticed him on the road and started to slow down and had to slam on my brakes when he ran in front of my car. There was an accident in both lanes on 75 street, which made rush hour a mess. I have a feeling I know where the dog lives, I think I saw the owner grab the dog and then disappear. I wish they could be held accountable for the damages.

I saw the dog run out on to the street and you slam on your brakes. I didn't know that the truck hit you though. I thought maybe the truck hit the dog but then I saw the dog take off running so I wasn't really sure exactly what happened. I know it really sucks but I'm glad to hear that you are okay.

WxMan.

I know it's not the dog's fault, it doesn't know any better, but the owner should be responsible for their pets. That make me so mad someone else negligence caused you so much grief, and they can be off the hook.

No. The one at fault is the Cube Van that was following too closely. Even if you have to slam on the brakes for an animal, they should be leaving enough space to stop.
Period, end of story.

Well in this case I'm gonna have to agree with Zuffy. It was rush hour traffic the dog ran out on the road and the truck was fully loaded. It was a renovation company truck that had a whole bathroom in it, can't stop to fast. I know the fault goes to the truck driver in this case, but I wish I could go after the home owner for the damages instead.

Impreza GC8 Call me a heartless prick...

It's sad to see another GC go to the big rally in the sky.

If an RS hood somehow becomes available, I would certainly be eager to buy it...

That's good that the car can be repaired. It's been a couple days since the incident, hopefully you are feeling ok?

well more to the story, my insurance adjuster just phoned me and the company who owned the truck that hit me didn't have liability for the truck. It should not have been on the road. Anyway going to head over to Showcase today to see waht they have to say.

If there ever was a case for getting a lawyer involved, this would be it.

Keep us posted Mike.

FYI, if you're car is a "write-off", Vince's (ratpaws) car is for sale, and its a very well maintained car.
