Abstract curiosity

I am pretty sure they are. They just run WAY more aggressive race pads. Not the ones that come with the kits.

I may be wrong though...

FWIW, if you're talking Grand-Am Cup, generally Stoptech brakes are not allowed, though they may be legal on a couple of specific cars. If this is the case, then the rotors and calipers should be the same as the street car stuff with different pads.

In SWC, there is a lot more leeway in the brakes. This would again vary model to model and car to car, but in most cases I believe the calipers and rotors are the same.

I am 99% sure that Gary Sheehan is running them on the S4 that he has a ride with in GAC.. that is one of the things that inspired me to ask. I'll just email them

Default stoptech..

In a recent SWC event, Stoptech was on pole, and they have a pretty good presence in the Speed pits now, vs a year and half a go, so they have begun the process of gaining respect in the Pro racing community in my opinion. Next up ,.ALMS and Prototypes. Need a 6 and 8 piston 355 and 390 mm versions or billet calipers. Im sure they are up to something.

I just confirmed that the WC Stoptech race winning BMW calipers and rotors are the same ones as the street kit.

(I work for that WC team that had the Stoptech brakes on the pole and won Lime Rock and Sebring SWC TC races).
