Default koni yellow and ground control suspension?

looking ot see if anyone has experience with koni yellow and ground suspension combo here. currently i'm running a set of apex coilovers. they are a bit rough for daily driving. probably awsome on track but a bit too much for me. thinking about switching to a more streetable koni/GC setup. any thoughts?

i installed them on a 96 mazda protege... very nice.. really good at higher speeds. i put the koni to maximum stiffness though i found they had to be there... although you can order different spring rates from ground control. he took the car to race city around the track. one of hte instructors at hte course was impressed with it on the track.

This is a great thread and there are several koni/GC owners that have contributed so far.

I've got Koni's and Eibach Pro springs with stock tophats. Decent combo for the street. Springs are a bit soft for track use, but better than stock. The Koni's are very nice.

im running this setup, and as far as stiffness goes, it all depends. on 40 series rubber slammed and on the stiffest setting i bounce around but in the winter on 45 series raised up and on the softest setting i feel like my car floats over bumps, still not as soft as stock of course but really nice.

thanks for the opinions, i'll do a bit more research on this setup. still undecided on struts since not many local subaru guys run the koni yellows. i know lots of guys in calgary run koni yellow struts with various spring/GC sleeve combos but not many subarus. for the old schook imprezas the kyb agx is fairly popular. i may go with these too. i probably won't notice any difference in performance since i don't push my car hard enough on the streets. haha.

as far as tire size, i'm running 18" Volks on 40 series tires with the rear fenders almost rolled flat. This setup is very rough... makes the ride quality suffer even more. part of the reason why i want to switch suspension setups too.

Just so you know, Guyons sells the Koni's. I called them with part numbers, and they gave me a competitive price (if memory serves it was $720 cdn) I *think* they can revalve them too.

$720.... wow. thats best pricing i've heard from anywhere. tunerworks wants around $900 and i thought that was pretty good. i'll check them out when i get a chance.

another place to try for pricing is Mopac Supply on 16Ave. There are the canadian distributor as far as the info I've been told. They are supposed to have good pricing on Koni's.
