before: Stock turbo, stock IC, stock up-pipe
after: pe1818, APC TMIC, jdm up-pipe, GP MOTO, IC hoses, and GP MOTO intake silencer. At certain RPM's my turbo sounds like police sirens in the distance on my tail. It's pretty freaky. It's not just me, even passengers think the cop's are coming. I'm wondering if other elbow delete owners experience the same thing?

Sounds to me as if your right at that point where the turbo is ready to kick in. Try backing off or giving more throttle instead of cruising at that particular RPM. Some people complain about their car being "jerky"... same reason.

I have the elbo in and I don't get that sound. Only other mods I have are up-pipe and turbo back. I don't think the elbow delete would cause that.

two questions for ya. Why run the stock muffler if you obviously wanted to free up the exhaust with the huge txs downpipe. Second question didn't txs give you the option of ordering the race pipe rather than gutting the high flow cat?
As for your observation I think its normal. All intakes and their accomp. have a unique whistling sound which is basically the turbo sound magnified. Mine sounds like that too. |

Upgrading the downpipe gives far more gains than the muffler...but the muffler is a restriction for sure.
You think the intake sounds funny, try hitting ~130 and listening to the wind resonate. |
