Default Lack of 05s XT and GTs in the states?

Our dealer just got in 2 legacy gt limited wagons, one auto one manual, and had a GT sedan on the lot that was sold. So we decided to get the auto GT limited wagon, and in search of a bargain checked the inventory of many subaru dealers in the state, and then moved on to all of the midwest (we are in michigan). We could not find a single other GT limited (that each of the dealer's websites said they had).. so we decided on a price, but its not at all invoice . Just wondering about the general lack of GT limiteds, and I assume too a similair degree, XT limiteds... is it just early along the line? Are they pumping out 2.5i's of both models and not as many XT and GT limiteds?

Pictures tomorrow.

Just wait. STis had the most ridiculous mark-ups when they firist hit dealerships and were going for invoice or less 6 months later. Dealerships will be full of GTs in no time.

Pretty much every dealer in MA has 2 or more GT's of some trim level.

I've heard there was a temporary stop of sales for legacy sedans due to an airbag safety issue. Has anyone heard this? A local dealer had to hold onto their sedans (not allowed to sell any of them until issue was resolved).

I'm sure their bread and butter will be the 2.5i models. There does seem to be a lot of them compared to GT's. I haevn't even seen an XT on a lot yet.

^^ Yup. Most customers will want 2.5i models, especially 2.5i Outbacks with AT. GTs and XTs will be rare at least for a while.

GT's and XT's seem to be somewhat plentiful here in south east PA. None of the dealers seem to be trying to make a killing on them either (except one dealer with an 05' XT). Two dealers quoted me, near invoice sales prices for Legacy GT Wagons with manual! These two dealers had really fair/good pricing on all of thier vehicles, but I think that they figure a manual wagon with low profile tires and 250hp/250ft.lbs will not be thier biggest seller, thus thier near-invoice quotes on them the day they rolled of the trucks with no haggling.

I must say, I was a bit upset...I went to the dealerships feeling kind of like Rockey, I did so much research on pricing and how to get the best deal, and it was all for nothing! A real surprise.
