Talking All red baja

Man I almost fell in love with the new red Baja till I was remembered my car was cooler cuz it was manual teehee. Has anyone else seen them? I took my car for its 1st oil change and my dealer had 4 2005 Baja’s… 2 all silver, one gray and silver, and 1 all red… all automatic though… ew. It’s a sharp color and looks incredible!

My dealier only has 1. It seems that CA is getting screwed out of the baja's. Every dealier I have seen only has 1 or 2 and that's it. I think that it is because of the BS emmissions regulations that we have out here and dealers can only sell cars that are intended for CA only.

The red is very nice. Makes me wanna have another Baja

BajaNut, we have that crazy CA emission stuff too. Quite a few states can't sell (new)cars unless they are CA emission cars. Its not so bad, and makes for cleaner breathin

My friend is a mechanic and he was just certified for emissions. In his area it is just a visual test…as long as the parts are there (working or not) it passes. The only way it fails is if the gas cap fails; letting air/gas escape under a certain amount of pressure. My county, I don’t even need an emissions inspection!

Hey 04turbogurl... You're not kidding with the Pa emissions. I had a Chevette with the muffler tied up with clothes hangers and hole in the catalitic converter and it passed emissions no problem. My first Subaru (Outback Sport) failed emissions because of a bad gas cap at only one year old. PA is crazy! Does your Baja run on unleaded gasoline or Yuengling Beer?

I use Yuengling Light Lager...to keep the Baja's figure!! Once and a while I will use the Back and Tan...for kicks! hehe
My mechanic friend said a lot of the jeep's gas caps fail as well!! Speaking of beer...Next time I have a "bush party" (people not from my area: party in the woods) I am going to fill the back of my Baja up w/ kegs and throw a few 40lb bags of ice in it and bam...great keg holders...it even has drains...perfect for melting ice...Now I know the secret behind the design of the Baja.
Actually now I think I will have a beer!

Turbogurl... What dealership has the all red Baja? I think I might want to take a ride to see what it looks like. My dealership doesn't really carry them anymore. I drove by my dealership today and they have 2 in the back of the lot.... same two that have been there for weeks. I would love to see the all red one though! I have a better chance seeing the Batmobile before seeing an all red Baja driving around town.

PS. Yuengling Light Lager for the Baja's figure... got it!

Hey Turbogurl,
I was in Leesport today and I checked out that all Red Baja. I loved it! Steve Moyer has about six or seven new and used Bajas... any flavor you want! They still had 04's brand new on the lot... I'm sure someone could get a sweet deal on an 04 this late in the year. I should have taken that red one for a spin... maybe next week!

I found out from my dealer this last weekend that CA is screwed for the BAJA because CA dealerships can only sell cars that are intended only for CA. It doesn't matter if the car meets CA emmissions requirements, it has to be intended for sale in CA. There are a few dealerships that ignore the law but most will. That sucks. That is why most dealerships out here only have 1 and at most 2 on the lot. When I got mine, there was only 1 baja turbo in all of CA avaiable and that was the one on the lot.

I just saw a red one last night at my subaru dealership when I was in for an oil change. I like it, but it wouldnt be my first choice. Wyoming valley had no fewer than 12 05 bajas, so I got to see every color combination I think.

The all atlantic blue pearl, which looks light blue most of the time, but when it gets darker it color deepens and almost looks purple, is pretty cool.

The dark blue color is still one of my favorites for single color bajas.

I also checked out the 05 legacy 2.5 GT turbo, and the rest of the 05 lineup. The legacy GT 2.5 looks like a mazda 6 from the side, at first glance I didnt even realize it was a subaru. I liked it though, although I have to admit it seems a bit pricey based just on outward appearance and interior quality. $30k+ sticker on one with leather and a manual trans!

Talking 05 Baja sport

Bought mine from cole and burd in mansfield,Pa. He had to drive it in from moosic for me to get the color I wanted. Love mine I traded up from a 93 escort with all of 88hp to the sports 165 this car rocks. I already used it haul lumber and siding for the work being done on my house. Will post a pic when I figure out how this forum works.

Sorry no pics here - but I got an 05 brochure from SOA. All red Baja Turbo with lots of gardening stuff on the back. It's a pretty picture for that market - which I recall SOA is partnering with Garden Association of some sort. Maybe someone should photoshop Martha in the driver's seat... Try asking for the brochure if you want to see it.
