Default Dad just got off the Queen Mary 2 and had an interesting time. Suicide onboard.

My dad said that some guy commited suicide by jumping off the boat at night so they had to turn the boat around and search for a few hours. They had coast guard helicopters searching as well.

The FBI got called in because there was talk that it might have been homicide by his "partner" (yes, he was gay.) but my Dad didn't have any info on if it was or wasn't yet. I haven't looked on the Net yet to see if it has been posted anywhere else either.

They never did find him.

---

Then the next day some old guy died of a heart attack so they had to land a helicopter onboard and haul him away.

Anyway. Way to make an interesting time even more interesting.

When was the last time you've seen a ship?

Did they sound the man overboard alarm and make everyone muster for a headcount? i.e. Standard Navy Procedure.

Technically it's not a cruise ship, it's an ocean liner.

last summer MY ASS. last summer was particularly bad, yes, but that was the culmination of years of problems.

fact: there are a whole hell of a lot of germs on your average cruise ship and being isolated with that many strangers for that long doesn't help your odds of avoiding them. viruses and bacteria both.

you want fun in the sun, go to the beach. oh yeah-- I'm not a germ freak. I'll let my friends taste my beer, and I'll let my gf use my toothbrush.

Planes are bad too.

P.S. You have no choice but to let the gf use the toothbrush either. Otherwise, the toothbrush moves in, and you know what that means.
