Default Ordering from Cobb, Customs/Duties?

Hello everybody, I'm thinking of getting the Cobb Stage 2 for a 2.5RS, but want to know how much it'll end up costing me before I go ahead and order. I've emailed Cobb and am waiting for a shipping quote, but I don't think they will be able to tell me any customs I might incur. So, I'm hoping someone here has had first hand experience with such a large order of car parts and will be able to tell me their customs/duties charges. I'm in Alberta if that has any relevance...thanks in advance.

Hey, I just ordered stuff from COBB through Frontier Subaru in Winnipeg - aparently they are the only authorized dealer in Canada. They just placed the order, so they are going to let me know how the shipping, duties, brokerage etc. turns out (it should be cheaper through them because of the larger volume). I'll let you know. You should give them a call, 204-944-6604, ask for Kim or Dave, both awesome to deal with.

if you order directly thru Cobb in US
The customs duties will shock you because they use UPS to ship to you (sometimes the custom can charge you the brokage fee is as much as 2/3 of the price of the item you paid. i.e. if the parts you pay is $300, the brokage fee can be up to 100-150 or even more)

I think you'd better order thru the Authorized dealer in Canada in order to save the duties.

My total fees for my Accessport were only $117. This includes all brokerage fees and GST.
I was happy with this considering they use UPS.

Just curious what is Fontier charging for an Accessport?

Wow, 117 for an accessport? I wonder if it is worse because it can also be considered electronics as well as auto parts. Although I remember getting charged something like $30cdn for some measly headlights. I'm going to speak with frontier subaru first.

A pretty good trick is to have them stamp

"Kosher Food" on the box.

It's amazing what's duty exempt.
