Default Q on tial wastegate

Quick question on a Tial wastegate (the smaller one they sell, I think it's 40mm?)

Does anyone know the specs on the hole on the top of the wastegate? I don't have a fitting in there right now to hook up a vacuum hose to, and I'd like to drop by autozone or whereever and pick one up, without having to remove the wastegate from my car.

I think it's a banjo bolt... but can I go somewhere and say " I need a _______ banjo bolt " and get the right one?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know the hole, but the smaller tial wastegate should be 38 mm, if it's an older model, 35mm.

He's talking about the bolt hole on the top. It is a banjo bolt- but I don't know the size. Mine came with the bolt.

35mm sounds right. It was the same wastegate off a ludespeed kit, back in the day. Mine had the bolt too, but a shop took it off when they made me new gaskets for the wastegate and I didn't notice til' much later.

Without the top banjo bolt connected you wont be able to control your pressure.. you'd only be able to get the spring rate boost.. nothing higher.

Example: if you have a 1bar spring you'd only be able to boost 14.7 psi

It should be a Tial 38mm wastegate.

I think that unless you're runnin an electronic boost controller, you don't need anything on that top hole (just needs to be open to atmosphere).

You might want to try giving Road Race Engineering a shout about that, though. They should be able to sell you the right one.

I think it's a 6mm banjo. I'll double check tonight w/ some calipers. I have my top one out right now anyway because I'm breaking in my new S2 on the spring.
