Have a Nice Day? HELP! Engine Light on - Need Advice!

Guys,
My engine light came on today on the drive home. I've got a MY00 2.5 RS w/ the following: Weapon R Intake, UD Pulley, Stromung Exhaust. It is 10 months old and has 9000 miles. I recently (a week or so ago) installed the Stromung and changed the oil from natural to Mobil-1 Synthetic 10w30. I spilled oil on the headers in the process, and had some smoke for about a day as it burned off the areas I couldn't reach to clean. I checked EVERYTHING when I got home. No oil leaks and the oil is full. No hoses misplaced or popped off. Nothing smoking or leaking from anywhere. What should I do? Take it into the dealer? I'm afraid they will blame WHATEVER THE PROBLEM IS on aftermarked parts, regardless of the laws. I have this feeling they will test it and find some way to correlate the problem to those parts. Any ideas what could cause the light? Please help! Thanks in advance!

Haha.. yeah.. the gas cap is on tight. Four people have asked me that, so I just found that funny. It's a locking cap, so it wasn't removed anytime soon - and it's on a 1/4 tank left. Thanks for the help - I called Dulles Motor Cars (who were VERY cool about my parts) and said since I never got the 7,500 mile check-up/tune-up and the car has 9,200 miles, it may just be that. And since the CE light isn't flashing, it's ok to drive until my appointment. I'll let you all know how it goes, incase it will help you out in this situation.

There is no way that the check engine light came on because you missed your 7500 mile service, they just want you to come in to get the cash work done. A 7500 mile service is probably just an oil change and tire rotation. If you just changed your oil save your money. Just go in for the ce light.
