Cool Baja 05/06

I got info from the regional SOA rep last night and thought I'd share...(May be old news on the forum)
06 is definitely going to exist. What body still not released.
05's will start arriving with leather and hard lids in September. (This is what my wife really wants so it was good news last night!)

Default '06 Baja

My understanding is that it will remain on the current platform. If the Baja survives beyond that, it will be on a new platform. Outback-based? Halifax-based? A combination of those two? Who knows?

Default Drove a new '05 Baja turbo auto & Outback XT manual...

back-to-back today. Yeah, I know, not exactly apples-to-apples...

I like the Baja turbo hooked up to the automatic. It has a very good ride, and good power—not great power, but very good power. I wish Subaru offered this vehicle with the All-Weather-Package, but even as is, I was impressed...

Until I drove the Outback turbo, that is...

Boy, Subaru can't get the Baja on to this new Outback (or Halifax) platform soon enough. That's all I have to say. As nice as the Baja is, the Outback XT just blows it away. It had much more power (the manual certainly helped), but it's just sooooooo much nicer in every way. I know it's not a "pick-em-up," and if that's what you need, then the Baja is the only game in town. Otherwise, it's an Outback XT for me.

I drove the Outback turbo.......

and the Baja Turbos.....Auto and Man........There was not a huge difference........Except in the price.........

I like the style of the Baja as well as the two tone colors........I am partial to the dark red.......kind of Burnt orange....But that dark blue all one color looks awesome...

I am just sold on the Baja in its current form....Beats the hell out of my old Ranger........

Cool

Yeah that blue is killer, mystic blue pearl. For 05 they changed the name to Regal blue pearl. That's the color i was going to get.I wanted to see one in person but no one had one.So i got in a hurry and i said that i would'nt.Its Subaru's fault for taking so long on getting them out.So i picked the red 2 tone that was on my 03,i knew that i liked this color.

What's wrong with the red pearl?! LOL
I picked mine because of the options, because it was at a dealer only 8 hours away, and because it wasn't yellow!!!
After I brought it home, and everyone at work saw it, I got more compliments on the red/silver combo. A few co-workers have seen one on the internet, but still say regatta red is the best.
I do wish it would get that 250hp engine. I saw the numbers on the outback turbo, and I thought it was 6.8 0-60. That's smokin for a wagon, unless it's the wrx sport wagon. If they just made an sti wrx sport wagon, you could haul a** and the groceries. LOL
